Gore: Global warming skeptics are this generation’s racists

One day climate change skeptics will be seen in the same negative light as racists, at least so says former Vice President Al Gore.

In an interview with former advertising executive and Climate Reality Project collaborator Alex Bogusky broadcasted on UStream on Friday, Gore explained that in order for climate change alarmists to succeed, they must “win the conversation” against those who deny there is a crisis.

“I remember, again going back to my early years in the South, when the Civil Rights revolution was unfolding, there were two things that really made an impression on me,” Gore said. “My generation watched Bull Connor turning the hose on civil rights demonstrators and we went, ‘Whoa! How gross and evil is that?’ My generation asked old people, ‘Explain to me again why it is okay to discriminate against people because their skin color is different?’ And when they couldn’t really answer that question with integrity, the change really started.”

The former vice president recalled how society succeeded in marginalizing racists and said climate change skeptics must be defeated in the same manner.

“Secondly, back to this phrase ‘win the conversation,’” he continued. “There came a time when friends or people you work with or people you were in clubs with — you’re much younger than me so you didn’t have to go through this personally — but there came a time when racist comments would come up in the course of the conversation and in years past they were just natural. Then there came a time when people would say, ‘Hey, man why do you talk that way, I mean that is wrong. I don’t go for that so don’t talk that way around me. I just don’t believe that.’ That happened in millions of conversations and slowly the conversation was won.”

“We have to win the conversation on climate,” Gore added.

When Bogusky questioned the analogy, asking if the scientific reasoning behind climate change skeptics might throw a wrench into the good and evil comparison with racism, Gore did not back down.

“I think it’s the same where the moral component is concerned and where the facts are concerned I think it is important to get that out there, absolutely,” Gore said.

Gore also took shots at Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who has lambasted climate change alarmists on the presidential campaign trail, and other politicians who dare to question the veracity of global warming science.

“This is an organized effort to attack the reputation of the scientific community as a whole, to attack their integrity, and to slander them with the lie that they are making up the science in order to make money,” Gore said.

The guy should change his name from Gore to Goebbels.

“Throughout most of my life, I raised tobacco. I want you to know that with my own hands, all of my life, I put it in the plant beds and transferred it. I’ve hoed it. I’ve chopped it. I’ve shredded it, spiked it, put it in the barn and stripped it and sold it.” — Al Gore, 1988

That’s a terrible thing to say about his dad.

Right! To call your own father a global warming skeptic. Is there nothing lower?

When the race card is played - no matter by whom, or for what - it means they are out of ammo...they have no more arguments to support or prove global warming...

The environuts should have picked someone other than the village idiot gore to represent their cause...

As much as I think Al Gore is a liberal loon, I WANT him to continue to make statements like this. Every week. We all need to see liberalism in its unmasked form. The more he speaks, the more he looses ground and the more he becomes desperate.

The quotes from Gore ,rather than the headline, talk about racism; his father fits the description.

Gore and his phony “racial tolerance” This is the same guy who purposely asked for a black roommate in college, solely to score political points. Bigotry shows itself in alot of ways, including hiding behind the defense mechanism of projection, which Gore and his fellow white Democrats do alot of.

There is NO DOUBT that in the Gore family's world (past and present) that was natural.

Gore’s FBI-stooge job, and his resultant elevation to Congress, was in line with his imperial racist family background. He had grown up mostly in Washington, D.C., attending private school as the insufferably arrogant son of a rich, white, Southern politician. His father was in the orbit of Cordell Hull, the aristocratic Tennessean who became Secretary of State under President Franklin Roosevelt and bitterly opposed FDR’s endeavors on behalf of the colonial peoples challenging British imperial racism.

In 1964, Gore Sr., then a Senator, sold out President Lyndon Baines Johnson and the Civil Rights movement by voting against the landmark Civil Rights Act (July 2, 1964), which dealt a death-blow to Jim Crow by outlawing racial segregation throughout the nation. Gore, Sr., also tried unsuccessfully to cripple the bill with an amendment stopping the cutoff of Federal funds to states that would defy the law, and perpetuate racial discrimination.

Al Gore’s annual electric/gas bill is more than my Social Security income for the year. He has been using about $14,000 of power a year.

That’s better. I just finished reading Whittaker Chambers’ book, Witness. So, I’m particularly sensitive to the characteristics of Communism.

The book is really amazingly thought provocative. If you have not read it, you should.

I now know why the left hated Richard Nixon with such venom. He was the lead prosecutor against Alger Hiss for HUAC, which opened up the whole communist conspiracy within the federal government. Did you know that Alger Hiss was the US representative to Yalta, that he helped set up the UN? Did you know that Whittaker Chambers, along with Elizabeth Bentley, also exposed the fact that a senior official of the US treasury dept, Harry Dexter White was a Communist who set up the IMF, participated in Breton Woods and arranged to turn over the currency plates for the post war German marks, which were drawn on the US treasury, to be turned over to the Russians, who then printed millions of dollars worth for themselves.

Another interesting fact was that many of the communists in the government came from Harvard.

“Thank God for the Florida Supreme Court !!!....”

Are you referring to the 2000 Pres. election recount? If so, you should thank God for the US Supreme Court which overturned the repeated calls for new recounts put forth by the Democrat dominated SC of Florida. My memory recalls the final decision by the SC of the USA which essentially said that the repeated calls for recounts ammounted to allowing one state (Florida) to decide the outcome of a Federal Election, and that it was tantamount to denying equal protection under the law to the winning candidate (i,e, the candidate who had repeatedly won all the recounts thus far), who was George W. Bush - not Al Gore Jr.
