Actually, what I get out of this is that the numbers of children spike after major wars and decline during long periods of peace. I think it's pretty obvious why this is.
That said, the main reason why people decide to have a lot of kids is that they come to realize that life is beautiful, worth living, and an amazing gift of God.

The largest family in our local homeschooling group has 13 children, but they could have more. She’s only a couple of years older than I am.
We have only one table, and the 2-year-old in the booster seat with tray. With only 8 children at home now (oldest is in the Coast Guard) it’s crowded but workable, if people keep their elbows in and their feet to themselves.

lol
what a total lie.
why do they lie about this? they have been pushing this lie my whole life. I have four kids FOUR and they cost me so little I hardly even know they are there.
I may spend an extra grand or two total per year for all of them combined. So, they are only off by about $800,000 or so in their estimate of what it costs to have kids.
Between hand-me-downs and gifts for birthdays and christmas, I hardly ever have to buy them anything but a little extra food and some school clothes every now and then.

The key is that a family “could” spend all that money. They’re probably assuming the family buys a more expensive house each time they have a child, and that they all go to daycare from 6 weeks and then to private school.
As to what the family “must” spend ... well, they have to eat.

Thank you. I’m seeing the specialist (”por las mujeres viejas,” the old women, I was just telling the church ladies) on Tuesday to have the in-depth ultrasound, and then I’ll tell my family. Right now only my husband, some FReepers, and an array of Spanish-speaking women know. The office ultrasound looked okay - size is right for the dates, and it has all its limbs.

45 years old, expecting my 10th child early next year. Outstanding! You've obviously done more than your share of bringing new Americans into this world. I managed to produce six, myself. Well, with the help of their momma, of course ;-)

You've obviously done more than your share of bringing new Americans into this world. So have you. I'm fortunate in having children easily, as well as general good health; you can't do more than your stamina allows.

20 to 25 seems to be a good number.
I’m going to have to talk with my kids.

The point is that whites are soon to be a minority in this country. The point is also that a large majority of abortions since 1973 have been by white females.
If you think the country after that will ever look the same, you are wrong, which is why you need to study what happened in Europe. Read “The Cube and the Cathedral.”
You debunked nothing, by the way, just spouted some slanted stats that do not give the complete picture, and we know the saying about stats.
Next time, just provide some information to the other freeper rather than just saying, “Hey, that sounds like a stupid comment. Does everyone here agree with me?”

I'm fortunate in having children easily, as well as general good health; you can't do more than your stamina allows. You've got to be in the top percentile in all three categories. I can only imagine how many people marvel at what you've done.

The point is that whites are soon to be a minority in this country etc.
I addressed a very specific claim that was flat-out, laughably wrong. That doesn't obligate me to care about what you think the greater point is. That doesn't obligate me to care about what you think happened to Europe, nor read your favorite books on the subject.
I don't think that correcting claims which are wildly factually incorrect should require any justification, or a declaration of any editorial slant. The fact that you think someone has to take a specific activist stance just to establish the facts is not a good indicator of intellectual honesty.
You debunked nothing, by the way, just spouted some slanted stats that do not give the complete picture, and we know the saying about stats.
Excellent. Another conspiracy theorist. I assume you have no conflicting data, right? Just a gut feeling, some anecdotes, and a very strong desire to be right about something or other?
