I suppose we’ll see. We shot the first piece of that thing up nearly 13 years ago. And now all of this time and money later, all we can do is wait and see. Sounds fantastic.
Look, I have no problem with that basic concept. Unfortunately NASA bogarted the funding until everything else had expired or had funds cut off.
Now we’re stuck with a space station we paid 80 to 90% of the cost for, that we named the international space station, and then failed to manage a way for it to be serviced into the future.
This abandonment is only supposed to be temporary, but it is none the less infuriating.
Now in 2011, NASA has gotten religion. The only thing is, it didn’t really get religion. This is planned obsolescence.
Bush, Obama, and NASA played into this. Both sides in Congress did too.
I’m angry about this. This is such clear malfeasance, and yet nothing will be done about it.
With the leadership we have today, we clearly don’t deserve to be in charge of much on this planet. It’s embarrassing to admit we’re the United States, today the biggest clowns on planet earth.
