I saw my first Kitchen Nightmare this weekend. Woof!
You know, I actually would be interested in seeing them do a show and leave the drama out. I bet a bunch of people would tune in just to see them all pitch in and make it work. I am over the “over dramatized” reality shows. Just show us a place that asked for help, wants that help, and then how to make it happen in 5 days, with experts.
I would love it if someone, owner/manager/decision maker would tell their staff “buy in, or buy out”. If you don’t want to do it to make it work, there’s the door. In this economy I bet they could find people that actually wanted to work, to come in and buy in to the process.
I agree. Shows that just have folks arguing over dumb stuff and never improving their lot are depressing. I definitely love to watch shows and movies where bad situations are flipped with some genuine effort and hard work. Folks could learn and draw hope from positive examples. That may not draw ratings but I think there'd be a real, postive economic impact if it motivates a core of can-do viewers to try.
A show that talks about small businesses with the same positive outlook that they do for home-improvement shows, that'd be new!
