His pervo deluded cult gets their martyr that much sooner.This is Jeffs manipulating the cult by any means necessary to keep them believing he is another mormon prophet in the manner of Joseph Smith. I'm sure there is a power play ongoing within the FLDS over who will take Jeffs place, and he is determined to rule from prison. This is a play for sympathy for him and a way to undercut any successor.
