You can feel the fact that Perry is going to be the Republican candidate. I’m no fan of Perry’s but there is no denying the surge of enthusiasm coming from Republicans and conservatives everywhere. IMO at this point Perry is the next President. About the only things that would be a problem is if the Dems are sitting on something so incredibly damaging to Perry’s reputation or if Hilary gets in the race.

I may be one of the last to fall to Perry’s “charms” but I will say the enthusiasm and confidence literally oozing from the right at this time feels pretty damn good. I think Sarah missed her chance. If she had jumped last month I doubt Perry would have got in the race. At the very least he would have given a lot of thought to it and his confidence may have been shaken a bit.

Also on the timing front is the fact the voters on the Right are tired of bandying about all these names and want a leader to stand behind. Not just anyone but someone perceived as strong. I wonder if this will give Sarah pause now? She’s a smart woman and there is no way she can’t help but feel the Perry groundswell.

I think Perry was always going to get in, regardless.
