Junk Science: The governor of a state under assault by the EPA takes on the patron saint of climate change over whether "warmers" or "deniers" benefit financially from the debate. Meanwhile, the nation loses.
Is Texas governor and presidential candidate Rick Perry a racist? According to the increasingly bombastic Al "expletive deleted" Gore, who was interviewed by Climate Reality Project collaborator Alex Bogusky on Ustream last Friday, Perry's global warming skepticism qualifies him as one.
Gore related how his "generation watched Bull Connor turning the hose on civil rights demonstrators" and that it was when racists could not answer the question of why blacks were inferior "with integrity" that "the change really started."
We shall overcome climate skeptics as well, he believes. "We have to win the conversation on climate," Gore said, just as the conversation on race was won.
After Gore equated climate change skepticism with racism, Bogusky prompted Gore: "Gov. Perry suggests that scientists have gotten together to foil the American public, or the global public." In fact, what Perry told an audience in New Hampshire was that our climate has been "changing ever since the earth was formed" due to largely natural forces and that "there are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data so that they will have dollars rolling into their projects."

Global warming ping
So I guess the student has turned on the master. Does this make Perry, Darth Vader?
:)
Why do sane people take Al Gore’s lunacy seriously? The guy is out to make a buck off of the unsuspecting idiots who believe in him. And he has done reasonably well in that effort. On the backs of idiots.......
No, this makes Perry Luke Skywalker. Perry saw the error of his ways and became a free market antiwarmer republican - the good side of the force. Al “expletive deleted” Gore, as the article explains, did not see the error of his ways and continues on the dark side.
It seems like it was just yesterday that Rick Perry(D) was trying to help Al Gore get elected as POTUS.
Wow - I don’t know enough about Perry to know whether he’s my man, but in a Perry v. Gore dispute I would lay odds that Perry’s position is probably 99+ percent likely to be right. Al Gore is out of his mind - to call him the Elmer Gantry of the global warming movement at this point is probably an insult to the fictitious Elmer Gantry.
So?
That was over 20 years ago..
Almost twenty years ago is “just yesterday” to you?
Tipper had it right...it's time to get the hell away from this nutcase.
As the son of one of the senators who, IIRC, filibustered and voted against the 1964 Civil Rights Act Gore should be in no position to call anyone a “racist”. I would truly delight in seeing him debate, well, anybody with more than half a functioning brain. The man is demonstrably stupid. And fat. All he needs is a few drinks under his ample belt and he’ll hit the Flounder Trifecta.
As the UK Guardian reports NASA scientists in a report that extraplanetary aliens are observing how we treat the planet and will come to kill us if we don't behave.
It seems pertinent to a thread titled “Perry Vs. Gore”, don’t ya think? Don’t worry, I’ll hold my nose and vote for Perry...again. But if he starts in on the comprehensive immigration reform, I’m gonna consider his Presidency the second Obama term and treat him as such.
Can you tell me a better way to inform everybody that Rick Perry was a Texas Democrat that tried to get Al Gore elected as President back in 1988? I thought the “just yesterday” thing worked pretty well but apparently it was too subtle for y’all. While you’re at it, why don’t you tell me what Rick Perry really stands for when he once stood for ultra liberal Al Gore but now stands against him. Sounds to me like Rick Perry stands for Rick Perry.
Will this finally put to bed the notion Perry worships Gore?
*Everybody* already knows that Perry was a Conservative Democrat and AlGORE was pretending to be one.
When are YOU and Red South going to get it straight?
“When are YOU and Red South going to get it straight?”
Sometime after their preffered candidate(s) either drop out or announce they are not running.
