Gaddafi forces cut off most of Tripoli's water: report

(Reuters) - Pro-Gaddafi forces in Sirte have cut two-thirds of the water supply to Tripoli, according to a report by the European Union's humanitarian office (ECHO) obtained by Reuters on Tuesday.

Water is in short supply in the Libyan capital, forcing aid agencies to bring tankers by land and sea to keep the Libyan capital functioning.

Most of the city's water is supplied by the massive "Great man-made river," a huge civil engineering project built under Muammar Gaddafi that pumps out water from under the Sahara desert.

"The valve allowing the transfer of 200,000 cubic meters (a day) from the Eastern system is in Sirte, and GF (Gaddafi forces) are keeping it closed," the ECHO report said.

Another 100,000 cubic meters a day was coming from 30 wells, but a lack of water had forced a shutdown of the secondary network serving rural areas around Tripoli. "Some suburbs have been completely out of water for the last 3 days," it said.

When the rebels cut off utilities to Tripoli it was seen as a smart military action. When loyalists cut off utilities to Tripoli it is a crime against humanity.

I’m sure the tens of thousands of NATO bombing sorties against Libya’s infrastructure, at the behest of Al-Qaeda “rebels”, has nothing to do with it either!

Exactly!

Months ago we were told Gaddafi and his family fled Libya. Next thing we know his forces are kicking their rebel’s asses. A week or so ago we were told Gaddafi’s son had been captured. Then he shows up in Tripoli uncaptured. A few days ago we were told Gaddafi had fled Libya and his forces were beaten. Now we here Gaddafi’s guys are turning the water off in Tripoli.

All of this despite big time NATO bombing. Where is the left’s outrage at these crimes against humanity. If a conservative American president were participating in this farce the Demrats would be advancing impeachment bills. I guess this little war is OK so long as it is being advanced by the Usurping Kenyan occupying the WH.

NATO messed up with the basic principles of propaganda and as the result Daffy exposed them as fools.

Libya war was meant to be a war of deception, where all that is reported is either not true or computer generated, while at the same time NATO wanton destruction is not reported.

Concept was good, but it did not work because NATO goons are idiots, as demonstrated by The Operation Mermaid Dawn.

First rule of propaganda is "gleichshaltung", uniformity. NATO's own sources give us 72 versions where it is easy to spot fake storyline.

Second rule of propaganda is iron grip on sources - NATO does not have it. They aired GGI made on location in Qatar, but it was exposed as fake through blogospere. NATO controls TWITTER and floods it with computer generated contents through fake accounts, but can not stop tweets on other languages pointing to other sources.

Third rule of propaganda is semblance of credibility and NATO sources do not have it. Reuters has been exposed with fake stories distributed as facts. Each son killed 5 times, Daffy seen on 5 locations, rebels controlling 95% of territory and fighting raging on for 5 months and so on.

Nice post. I would quibble a bit on your third point: Propaganda must have a semblance of credibiity. Ideally you are correct. However, the Marxists believe we’re so dumbed down and uninformed that part is no longer relevant. Even in the face of internet.

To be sure, there are enough of their useful idiots around to encourage them in that misperception. However, it seems to me more and more people are waking up to the disaster around them. The Usuping Marsist/Islamoterrorist Onada and his band of angry commies pushed too far, too fast. It appears to me that a growing number of blacks are beginning to understand they are the group most negatively affected by Onada’s Marxist policies. Onada is taking heat when he visits black neighborhood townhall meetings.
