Former Vice President Dick Cheney says his book, which hits bookstores Tuesday, will make heads explode.

While early leaks of the manuscript have focused on revelations about rifts among officials in the Bush administration, The Daily Caller has combed through the 527 pages of his autobiography, “In My Time,” in search of nuggets you may not have known about Cheney.

Here’s what we’ve learned:

  1. Cheney thought the military had taken down passenger planes on 9/11
  2. Cheney laid out reasons why he shouldn’t be VP before being picked
  3. Donald Rumsfeld once rejected Cheney as an intern
  4. Cheney’s first heart attack dates back to his first campaign
  5. Cheney wrote resignation letter in case he was unable to fulfill duties
  6. Cheney explains why he told Sen. Leahy to “f**k yourself.”
  7. Cheney thought Newt was ‘fascinating to watch’
  8. Cheney decided against presidential run in 1996
  9. Cheney regrets not issuing a press statement earlier on shooting friend during hunting trip
  10. Cheney considered Rumsfeld for VP in 2000

The entire shot down vs. crashed re: Flight 93 is more of a pure example of how information and decision flows in a time of crisis are subject to being about the reactive mode rather than proactive mode. The best battle plans only last until first contact with the enemy then you have to rely on good training and proper leadership at every level.

Wasn’t there some thought that grounding the planes stopped a hijack crew in St.Louis and that they fled to Mexico by train.

I hadn't heard of that before your post. Choosing St. Louis would be an interesting departure--the hijacker terrorists chose large planes departing for trans-US routes, as they would have more fuel in them. Still, St. Louis might've been a good choice to fly into a building in say, Chicago.

Absolutely also the profits from Lynne Cheney’s children’s books she wrote during Dick Cheney’s term as VP; this again is rarely mentioned.

My memory isn’t the best but I think Atlanta was where I heard a group there was noticed that fled right after it was announced that all flights had been grounded.

"I suppose they are referring to the average man in the street's knowledge not us geeks :o)"

Problem with that is, the same geeks that read George Bush's Decision Points will be the same audience reading this book. I do imagine that Cheney will be much more blunt in his assesment of people than 'W' was. He will also be willing to take Rumsfeld's side in more instances. It's always interesting to read memoirs of two people about the same events. It gives different perspectives and helps to fill in a better picture.

From what I understand, the vast majority of it went to Charities that help poor Black Children living in D.C. Can’t let that out, now can they?

I thought it was more like a $20 Million Payday, which happens to be much less than DEMOCRAT Harold Raines got for ruining Fannie Mae. I think DEMOCRAT Jamie Gorelick got $20 Million for her efforts there as well. But they hate the evil Dick Cheney for being “rich” as well as blaming him for everything and anything they can imagine.

My B-I-L says Cheney is a War Criminal. His hatred for Cheney is rabid. After he informed me of this self revelation, we barely communicate. He is now one of THEM, much to my chagrin. The Obama virus got to him, like it has to millions of Americans.

I had the pleasure of seeing V.P. Cheney in person on numerous occasions. He is a deliberate man, an adult, and we are being ruled by spoiled Children.

If Eddie Haskell was a Mulatto, he would be Obama.

Didn’t mean to go off topic, but something clicked when I read you Post.
