What the hell is the mercat doing?

It’s not a Mercat, its a meercat and although I’m fond of them I’m not an expert. Mercat stands for my initials plus the first three letters of Catholic. At the time I chose it, I was reading Mere Christianity and decided I was a mere Catholic. Also my son’s screen name at the time but no longer was stratokat. Long story.
