He knows it; he is doing this so far out from the election to head off a Dem primary challenger, not the Repub front-runner. I’ve said for over a year that Obama will not be the Dem candidate in 2012, and I still very much believe that (his chances of winning drop with every additional day of high unemployment and inflation, reported or not). The Dems can’t take another “shellacking”, and they can’t deceive themselves that it won’t happen again; all Dems “down-ticket” from the Kenyan Pirate know he is an albatross around their necks (and the end of their careers).
