Heavy machinery might become a common sight in some Harlingen neighborhoods.
The Texas National Guard is demolishing some 42 homes and buildings as part of “Operation Crackdown.”
Authorities are demolishing the condemned properties that have become “crack houses” or havens for criminal activity.
Harlingen city officials have compiled a list of 42 homes and buildings for demolishing.
The structures are being demolished at no cost to the owners.

Demolishing the crack houses won’t solve the problem. They’ll just move somewhere else and continue their business.
