I tend to agree with you - both sides lie like rugs but in this case at about the same time that this was reported to have taken place co incidentally the acting PM of council let it be known that they knew where Gaddafi was.
It seemed rather silly to say that if they really knew but it makes sense if they had traced the phone call and thus got an idea that Gadaffi could be in that general area too.
That's bad enough...but you consider also that they don't believe each other either.....their religion allows and encourages deception and outright lies if it will protect or hide them.
They are more than taught to not use critical thinking....it's drummed out of them by whatever means is available.....which is why communicating with them is such a frustration...nothing ever is what it appears....nor to them does it need to be....then add in they are at war for their very survival....
Think of how children behave when cornered or in deep crap....that's exactly what dealing with these characters is like.
