Port Chester used to be a sliver of towny white trashdom bookended by Rye on one side and Greenwich on the other. Now it is a dormitory community for the hired help of both towns. Do you think Rye and Greenwich folks would be caught dead having their kids work fast food jobs, mow lawns, take care of younger siblings, etc?
The Life Saver factory is now a condo. There is a nice bakery/cafe across the street.
I had no problem with Port Chester when I worked in Ryebrook and White Plains. We would shop and have lunch there. That was in the mid 90’s I have no idea what it is like today.
