Perry hits back: Obama’s policies are ‘dumb’
Daily Caller ^ | 8/31/11 | Caroline May

On Sean Hannity’s radio show Tuesday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry defended himself against attacks that he is “dumb,” claiming what is really dumb is how the U.S. economy has worsened under President Obama.

“It’s kind of the same old attacks they made on [Ronald] Reagan and I guess every prominent, effective conservative,” Perry told Hannity’s audience. “And the better we do down here in Texas, the more they are going to attack us. That’s fine.”

“I think my record is going to stand the scrutiny of time across the country,” Perry added, noting Texas’ economic strength. His state has created 47 percent of the country’s jobs since the 2009 stimulus.

Perry argued that while Texas has thrived under his leadership, the U.S. has wilted with Obama at its helm.

Ding, ding, ding

Even us ignorant folks (according to Obama) know he messed things up royally....in both domestic and foreign affairs.

Obama is the smartest president in American history ... I know this because Chris Matthews and the New York Times told me so.

Obama was so smart ... that he has the worst job performance record of any modern U.S. president. Worse than Jimmy Carter. Hussein is the new standard of being a failed president.

Perry is not my favorite candidate but I would vote for him because he takes on the Pretender every chance he gets. The reason everyone liked Trumps is because he toke on the Imposter In Chief.

Should he be the nominee, that will be the one talking point you will hear over and over again. Perry = economic success. Obama = economic impotence. It may be an oversimplification but the numbers make it very difficult to dispute.

I think Perry can take it even further. “In the past 10 years in Texas,” Perry could say, “we experienced hurricanes. We experienced droughts. We experienced mass murders on our military bases. We didn’t use them as excuses. We saw them as momentary setbacks and then went on with growing the economy.”

“And Texas had one other obstacle that Washington doesn’t have - interference by the federal government in our efforts to drill for oil, our efforts to build and upgrade refineries and our efforts to keep our borders safe. As president, I’ll make sure we stop interfering and start facilitating.”

Say what you want, Perry has his head screwed on right. AND he doesn’t mealy mouth what he wants to say.

I liked that little story Perry told about the lady afraid of losing her small business if 0bama is re-elected. This was a very effective appeal to emotion which is rare for a conservative candidate. If Perry can continue striking this chord, he will create a bond with the American people and provide yet another contrast with 0bama.

Obama said the next election will be about competing visions and I totally agree with Obama for the first time in my life. So it is incumbent for Perry or whoever is the nominee to share their vision rather than just opposing the “Bozo.”

Government spending, Keynesian economics, and 0bama's policies are nothing more than The Broken Windows Fallacy expanded to nationwide policy.

And there is no "muliplier factor" because all of the mythical multipliers are eaten up by the inefficiencies of government spending.

This is a good start, but it might have more punch if he pointed out every single "brilliant" (and I'd use that word) Obama outcome, i.e., 10% unemployment, $15 trillion deficit, etc.

" Perry also reiterated his promise to sign an executive order wiping out as much of “Obamacare” as he can on his first day as president."

Ladies and gentlemen...that is a winner. I will vote for Perry-if he gets the nomination-based solely on this one issue.

There may be other items that I do not wholeheartedly agree with the governor on, but we are in complete agreement on this matter.

Call it my litmus test.

Perry is dumb?
Compared to what?
Pres. Obama? What supports that Obama is smart - nothing.

Obama is at least smart enough TO keep all his school records hidden from the public.
I’ll give him that.
It’s not much, but it’s really all he’s got if anyone
wants to insist he’s “smart”,

And in the last ten years, the number of ATMs has tripled.

Kinda like the Gnostics, right?

Obama’s genius isn’t obvious to the common man who has been ruined by his policies, but he possesses a “secret knowledge” that only the divine progressives are privy to, the secret of how we are “progressing” as a nation by becoming more like a dysfunctional, impoverished Third World dump.

Much kudos to Gov. Perry here. Calling the Wons Policies dumb hits the nail on the head, so to speak. Obama must be fuming at the thought of someone(Perry) daring to call a spade a spade(pun intended?)here.

Good post.

I do not agree with 100% of what Perry has done in the past but I sure do like what he is saying in the present.

There are many Perry bashers on this site. We need to consider which candidate will be our best hope for driving the bamster and his minions from government or he will win another term and that is the end of the USA. So far, none of the other candidates interest me as much as Perry.
