Perry hits back: Obama’s policies are ‘dumb’
Daily Caller ^ | 8/31/11 | Caroline May

On Sean Hannity’s radio show Tuesday, Texas Gov. Rick Perry defended himself against attacks that he is “dumb,” claiming what is really dumb is how the U.S. economy has worsened under President Obama.

“It’s kind of the same old attacks they made on [Ronald] Reagan and I guess every prominent, effective conservative,” Perry told Hannity’s audience. “And the better we do down here in Texas, the more they are going to attack us. That’s fine.”

“I think my record is going to stand the scrutiny of time across the country,” Perry added, noting Texas’ economic strength. His state has created 47 percent of the country’s jobs since the 2009 stimulus.

Perry argued that while Texas has thrived under his leadership, the U.S. has wilted with Obama at its helm.

This is really a stupid tactic by leftwingers. It draws a contrast between their so-called “smart” failure and the dumb success.

It also draws attention to the job they have done vetting their empty suit.

Except for Romney, Huntsman and Paul, I’m pretty pleased with the choice of GOP candidates.

Among those that I WOULD vote for, Perry is my least favorite, but I’d still have no problem voting for him.

Bachmann, Cain and Santorum all have just as much backbone as Perry, but they don’t get the press coverage that Perry gets.

" Perry also reiterated his promise to sign an executive order wiping out as much of “Obamacare” as he can on his first day as president."

Ladies and gentlemen...that is a winner. I will vote for Perry-if he gets the nomination-based solely on this one issue.

We would all like to see Obamacare repealed. But Rick Perry Clueless On Use Of Executive Presidential Powers To Kill Obamacare

Yes, I can read and did notice his parsing words so as to fool the foolish. Perry is blowing smoke. He makes it sound as though he can do away with Obamacare with the swipe of a pen but that just isn’t true nor should it be. If it were leftist presidents could issue EOs nullifying laws they don’t like, be they related to gun rights or some other issue that they can otherwise never win.

I am of the “Anybody But Obama” camp and like Santorum the best but he has no chance. Any conservative will beat Obama and I am not worried about it happening.

Perry will have the guts to fire all of King Obama’s communists appointments. The job of cleaning out the various groups such as the FAA, Justice Department, EPA, etc will be huge and will take years. America is now ruled by the communists and have destroyed so much that the job will be unbelievably hard and must be done carefully.

You’re free to believe anything you’d like. But If presidents had the authority to nullify laws that they disagreed with this country would live in perpetual chaos. Do you really think Barry has that power but hasn’t used it?

Think he should get more to - and 'on' point. Perry offered as 'critically' - which is to say "not"; that Obama does not 'get it' - that he has bad advisors.

This is weak stuff, given what Perry should know about Obama after two disastrous years - and all those prior.

. Am disappointed in the Luke warm rhetoric. Makes me think Perry does not get it either.

. (And neither does Karl Rove...and whomever listens to him. Beyond, Mitt, that is; whom we know, 'tunes him in'.)

Hi, South40,

I see we both go to the Perry threads!

You would be (will be!) good debate prep for Perry for if/when it is Perry who debates Obama.

You find a lot of opposition to Perry from various sources.

This is good because it makes Perry, and the rest of us, look at the election underbelly to correct what is “out there” that the opposition is choosing to use. Correct it early at the right time and right place. Stay on offense.

Perry’s people need to be aware of what is out there so he doesn’t get blindsided. We need to be sure we don’t get blindsided either because we will be challenged by our friends/family/neighbors, etc.

When you find opposition to Perry you keep every one of us on our toes.

I was thinking about this yesterday. Perry was a cheerleader or something like that at A & M.

Bush was also a college cheerleader. A friend of mine, totally in the bag for Obama (and still there) actually sneered about Bush being a cheerleader.

My immediate response to her sneer was: “WTH” and “WTF”. It was so out of the realm of challenge I was dunbfounded and didn’t respond!

When did being a cheerleader get to be a problem? She used it and all of the arrows she could find - big arrows, little arrows, she used anything she could find to oppose Bush.

If truth is out there and can be useful...make sure it stays there far and wide.

If untruth about Perry is out there, always have answer for it in case it comes up. It will come up, I should say.

Perry is really going to have to hone his skills - he is going to have to be Yoda-like! Or Perry-like. And always stay on offense.

Perry’s handlers would do him a favor by following up on Free Republic. Freepers are great fact, and not fact, finders.

Hey, South40, see you on some more Perry posts!

“Perry = economic success. Obama = economic impotence”.....

I like that. I also think they could use Perry = Prosperity
Now if we could come up with a good, negative-meaning adjective for the letter “O”, that would be super.
-——————Like O = Obtuse)?-———

Yesterday I was trying to design a billboard to chide Obama and I came up with this:

Help CHANGE
Obama’s =
Presidency A NEW
End PRESIDENT!

I know ir needs some revision, but you get the point.

Are we really sure that this bit of propaganda is really true?

Here’s a serious (but absurd and undoubtedly leftist) study that puts Carter nowhere near the top.
