Re-assigning an ATF Director Isn't Enough: Those Behind 'Fast and Furious' Must be Prosecuted
Big Government ^ | AWR Hawkins

News broke yesterday that punishment had been meted out for “Fast and Furious.” Acting ATF Director Kenneth Melson had been re-assigned and U.S. Attorney Dennis Burke had resigned. There was no mention of pending criminal prosecution or jail time. Rather, we were politely informed that Melson would be moved to a new position at the DOJ in Washington DC while Burke would “return to private life.”

Hmmm. Let’s think about this: Over 150 Mexican law enforcement officials have been killed as a result of Fast and Furious. As have nearly 1,000 Mexican civilians, at least one U.S. Border Agent (God bless the family of Brian Terry), and who knows how many other humans on both sides of the border who have yet to be accounted for. And there are still over 1,000 weapons on the loose, although we are starting to find them more and more at crime scenes in America.

And all that happens in response to this is that an Acting Director gets re-assigned and a U.S. Attorney returns to private life?

I say we let Mexican prosecutors and prison wardens do the job Americans aren't willing to do with BATF, DEA, DOJ and even State Department officials.

The leaders of this fiasco should be tried and executed. Might as well put that federal death penalty to use.

I say we defund all of these agencies and make these people get real jobs. Let's see, what's the civilian equivalent of being a BATFaggot? What's the civilian equivalent of being a DEA (Drunk Every Afternoon) agent? Gee, you say there aren't any? SHOCKER. :) They can join the ranks of the unemployed, except they will be deservedly unemployed.

The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

It doesn't say MAY be infringed. It doesn't say shall not be infringed, except on weekdays. It says SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

Mm, I love me some of that Tenth Amendment.

There are allegations of cover ups by the Attorney General and his Justice Department. Secretary Molson is a federal official. The US Attorney is disgraced.....Seems to me like the government will have an automatic Conflict of Interest as it investigates itself. The only legal solution is the appointment of a Special Prosecutor considering the importance and power of the officials involved.

200 mexy cops dead, 2 US agents killed and ONE guy gets RE-ASSIGNED...?

Turn that over in your mind awhile, as the vile obscenity that it is.

Ya think if Bush were in office and this went down that the press would let it sit at JUST THAT...?

There would be impeachment hearings.

They “reassigned” Virginia O’Brien when things got hot in Pheonix to Tampa where she headed up Operation Castaway also. The whistle was blown on her in Tampa and she called her crew in to purge e-mails and shred documents.

Interesting, I don't recall seeing that. Do you have a link or at least have the info saved on your hard drive (and in a safe place)?

I know I’m just a softhearted female, but, the news reports with Mexican woman and children dodging bullets brings tears to my eyes. I want those involved to go to jail, or worse. They sent those guns across the border to kill people! They say they wanted to trace them to the heads of the drug cartels. How could they track those guns without tracking devices in the guns? They had to wait until the guns were used! They wanted those guns to kill people, and they didn’t care who! They sent those guns to kill babies! Government employees have the idea it’s ok for them violate laws that we would go to jail for. Randy Weaver was going to be arrested for selling a sawed-off shotgun. These government employees should be treated the same.
