Caliifornia has a lot of money in their budget. They wouldn´t pass this Dream Act if they were in a pinch.. Now would they? Well, they know they’ll get money from Washington, as California is to BIG to go down in a blaze of flames.
“I guess it is impossible to out-stupid California. Other states (such as Illinois, Michigan, New York, etc.) will have to vie for next to the stupidest state.”
Rick Perry has already signed legislation in Texas that grants In-State Tuition to Illegal Aliens.
that’s is because the politicians and special interests in CA realize they are not accountable to the taxpayers and can do whatever they like to hold power without any concerns about having to answer for it. The unions, special interests and illegal aliens along with corrupt and incompetent politicians have a death grip on the state. The only good thing is they have not found a way to prevent people and businesses from leaving. At some point there will be no one left to pay for their ‘dream’ state.
Perry going to make the signing and get a pen????
The attorney general makes exceptions for cases involving some of his “people.”
Texas is hardly the only other state to do this, either. My state of New York has done it for years.
“it is unlikely they will receive any education of value from a California university or college.”
You know what? This bill is insane. It’s probably illegal.
But California universities and colleges are the best in the country, if not the world. Yeah, I’m looking at you, Harvard.
We have the University of California system — that’s TEN campuses. Between Cal, UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, and UC San Diego, you can’t count the number of Nobel prizes. These are PUBLIC universities, mind you.
We have Cal Tech (which only put men on the moon and ushered in the computer age, no thanks to MIT), the Cal Poly schools, and let’s not forget Stanford.
And I don’t know where you get this “astronomical tuition” stuff. The UC and Cal State systems are dirt cheap compared to their Eastern counterparts.
We have a lot of problems here — including this bill — but our higher education system is something our parents and grandparents got right.
Oh, yeah, there’s also USC, but it sort of doesn’t belong on the list. Meh.
You see... I thought there were Federal laws about housing or aiding an illegal immigrant. Were those laws wiped out?
Can those of us in the sane counties PLEASE break away from the Marxists in L.A. and San Fran and Berzerkely and those other leftist hellholes? And can we get us a conservative governor that’ll veto any bills that hurt our sovereignty and/or economy?
Heck, I’d even say okay to Imperial County if it means severing the ties with Hollyweird and the bay area.
I used to scoff at Savage’s definition of liberalism as a mental disease, as I thought he was joking. Every day liberals prove him right. Every day liberals who run states and the federal government add more costs and regulations on businesses, driving them out of their states and ultimately out of the country, they prevent every business that increases jobs or tries to bring fossil sources of energy out of the ground, and increase costs on the governments themselves at a time when the governments in question are already broke! Who does this except a crazy person?
That statement is completely accurate,.....20 years ago.
The university that graduated the NASA pioneers that put US astronauts on the moon, is no more. Their latest graduates have created sterling examples of technology like MTBE, carbon banking and identical flu vaccine selections for successive flu seasons.
A sheepskin is worth what it's perceived value is, like fiat money. As soon as the public catches on, Cal is finished.
