Another way is for citizens to stand up and stop rolling over for this sort of bullshit. Armed citizens could easily stop further abuses by the government and their thuggish representatives. All it takes is a spine, firearms, and the will to use them.

I'd say that's a 'good start' on a collection...
'Firearm envy' tells me that having all sorts of nifty firearms is fine and dandy and I'd like to have that many too.
Practicality, however, tells me that if I can't carry the weapons and ammo on me in an emergency (WTSHTF) those extra weapons are little more than expensive paperweights and more ammo would have been a more prudent purchase.

And for those who would say..."Have them for your friends who don't have them" I say..."I wouldn't have friends who don't already have their own."

Dunno. Did you register it? Do you live in SC, MA, DE, NJ etc. where state law makes those things illegal even if you have federal OK? Friend of mine moved to SC and had to sell all of his full auto weapons because of state law.
