George Bush: I'm fine with Dick Cheney's book

In his first comments on Dick Cheney’s new memoir, former President George W. Bush said on Thursday that he isn’t bothered by the book - which has angered at least two members of his administration.

Bush, who appeared on “Fox & Friends” while attending a charity golf event, said he won’t concern himself with the controversy “In My Time” has created among members of his former staff.

“I’m glad members of my family are giving their version of what it was like to serve our country,” Bush said. “I did the same thing. I put my version out there. And eventually objective historians will analyze our administration and will draw objective conclusions.”

Condi and Colin didn't like it. Too bad.

Bush would be fine if someone called him the anti-Christ. Oh wait, they did. Indifference to criticism is a virtue with the Bushs, and that’s fine for an ex-president, but it didn’t make for an effective defense of his policies while in office.

I’m reading it—and so far, I’m enjoying it.

The part where he describes what went on on 9/11concerning the president and what went on at the White House I found extremely interesting.

I read that Condi took exception to the “tearful” part. We report, you decide. (Hell Colin was probably “tearful” too).

I have 1 1/2 books stacked up before I get to the Veep’s.

I'm reading Charles Mann's “1493” which is an extraordinary history...

The fact that Condi doesn’t like it/refutes it compelled me to buy it.

If there were anyone to trust in that adminstration it was Cheney. If there were anyone not to it was Rice and Powell.

I didn’t always agree with everything Bush did, but I always respected his willingness to let others have their say. He is the least controlling personality I’ve ever seen in the White House. (And he’s kind of cute.)

Thought I was the only one that thought that! ;^)

One other thing I believe - the Iraq war would only have had one chapter, not two, had Powell not been in that slot.

I pre-ordered and should be getting my copy real soon.
Cheney had me at “liberal heads will explode.”

Cheney always gets a bad rap because of Haliburton, but the man is a conservative’s conservative.

He was the glue when it came to foreign policy. I wish he had a heavier hand on the domestic front. Kennedy would never have gotten close to Bush.
