60% Say Palin Run Would Hurt the GOP
Rasmussen Reports ^ | 9/2/11 | Rasmussen

Posted on 09/02/2011 12:33:40 PM PDT by CA Conservative

A plurality (47%) of Likely U.S. Voters believe it is at least somewhat likely that Palin will enter the presidential race, but that includes only 13% who feel it’s Very Likely. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 35% think a Palin bid is unlikely, but just five percent (5%) say it’s Not At All Likely. Eighteen percent (18%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Only 18% of voters think it would be good for Republicans if Palin entered the race. Sixty percent (60%) say it would be bad for the party, while 11% predict it would have no impact. Twelve percent (12%) are not sure.

Even most Republicans (52%) believe it would be bad for the GOP if Palin threw her hat in the ring, a view shared by 74% of Democrats and 54% of voters not affiliated with either major party.

For a nerd like me who's drilled deep into Palin's record, maybe my favorite tweet tonight:

Only at a C4P meetup would everyone in the room nod knowingly when someone mentions "AGIA"

Oooh I'm shocked no one replied calling you a communist for not worshiping Sarah Palin.

I wouldn't call you a communist ~ Flaming Drama Queen for sure, but not neccesarily a commie.

Perry is actually Romney’s “stalking horse”.

Interesting, but my first impression also.

I hit abuse on that post. That kind of language isn’t allowed on FR. There are FReepers with kids and they read FR too.

However another 4 years of 0Bama will finish this country off for good to a 3rd world status.

Really? For pozzle-tively sure? He'd be awful dangerous and bad, certainly. But he'd only win by vote fraud or plurality, I don't care WHO the Republican nominee ends up being. THEREFORE, if he won, Americans would be very, very angry. The pressure on Congress to go hard right would grow even stronger. Those two things seem to me to be nearly 100 percent certain consequences if Obama won.

Just some things to think about.

I don ‘t know about you, but I am impatient with those Republicans who after the last election rushed into print saying, “We must broaden the base of our party”—when what they meant was to fuzz up and blur even more the differences between ourselves and our opponents.

OMG!!! *gack* Reagan broke his own 11th commandment!!!

No, I haven’t read that article and don’t know anything about it. I haven’t had a minute to spare. Is there something exceptionally interesting?
