Score a trifecta for Obama: he helped publicize the Republican debate, lost another ill-considered battle with John Boehner, and will give a speech while most of the country is either at work, driving home, or eating dinner.Or getting ready for the pre-game parties.

The article was a bit thin. I expected more when I clicked through.
Team Obama actualy accomplished something I thought was impossible with the scheduling fight on this speech. They made James Carville look classy.

He’s going to be in Detroit at the Labor Day parade and rally afterward with Richard Trumpka and the unions. Why couldn’t he have used that occasion to put fourth his “jobs plan”? Seems like the WH would have jumped on that opportunity with all his union buddies cheering him on...and on Labor Day, too.
