Perry's degree in Animal Sci is a point in his favor! Now, his nanny gov't Gardasil move, his taking the same side as ACORN, and his willingness to speak at a La Raza event, are all things that I find pretty disturbing about Perry.

Amen.

I have to disagree with you on motive. I am loathe to discuss motive anyway, because I’m not a mind-reader. But if I were to guess at a motive, I would say they really want to beat Obama. Their motive is instead to tear down Rick Perry because at the moment he is the biggest obstacle they see to Sarah Palin getting into the race, or winning the nomination.

If you look back at who has been attacked and when, you’ll find interesting things. Of course, Romney gets attacked all the time, that’s just good work. Cain almost NEVER gets attacked by anybody — his poll numbers are too low to matter, nobody thinks he’s a challenge to Palin. In fact, he’s a good placeholder for her. So all you see against him is occasionally, if he has a good debate or rises a bit in the polls, is a comment like “He’s a great conservative, but without executive experience he just isn’t right for this cycle”.

Michelle Bachmann was the darling of the Palin folks for a long time, I think because she was also seen as a good placeholder for Palin, someone who would hold the base, cause Romney trouble, but would never be acceptable enough to actually be a real candidate.

But then she started getting traction, she had a good debate, she started polling in double-digits. Suddenly there were attacks on her, her campaign manager, unsourced rumors about her staff attacking Palin. This continued until Perry entered and Bachmann fell out of the picture, and now nobody attacks here anymore. Mission accomplished.

Now Perry has jumped to the top of the heap. And what do we see? GO back and count the anti-Romney threads from the past month. There are almost none. Instead, the Palin folks (and I guess the Paul folks) are focused on taking down Perry. That has to be part of the strategy to keep the field clear for Sarah.

For Perry, this is probably a good sign, because they wouldn’t attack someone so strongly if they weren’t afraid (OK, maybe they wood, but that is such a staple of their arguments when it comes to Palin that it had to be said). Note that Sarah Palin isn’t attacking Rick Perry — she’s not afraid, she has a plan, she’ll follow that plan.

It’s her supporters that seem very intent on making sure nobody falls for Rick Perry. Even though they insist that when Sarah Palin enters, Perry will be an afterthought. And therefore all their work now is meaningless, a waste of time, because what difference will it make when Palin sweeps the field?

Oh, I get it...only almighty Texans can get it, right?

I've never seen so many lying, politically disingenuous hypocrites ever, as those supporting Perry. It's worse than the Bush days.

For many years these big party groupies have repeatedly told all, the illegal aliens in California are the fault of Californians, and they deserve everything they get.

Yet when another guy from Texas is running for President, it's the same old bull shit...Perry is a powerless innocent by-stander and the millions of illegals in Texas are the Feds fault.

Cold day in hell when I support this guy, or join the ranks of these political hypocrites or anyone who has aided and abetted this country killing invasion as Perry has.

Perry's skipping out on the DeMint forum wouldn't be the first time Slick-Rick has skipped out on a debate. He refused to debate opponent Bill White in his last gubernatorial election.

Now that's interesting. Looks to me like Ricky figured he didn't need to debate b/c he "knew" had the election all sewed up.

Where'd he get all the votes to beat White.......and the votes for his unbroken string of wins?

>> GWB nominated Dick Cheney as VP, a guy from a state with 2 electoral votes. <<

Yes indeed, and we almost lost that election because the Bush-Cheney team only got 271 electoral votes, precisely 1 more than we needed to win. Bush was defeated in states expected to return to the GOP camp, like Pennsylvania, Iowa, Wisconsin, and New Mexico, as the media eagerly reported on election night. Gore was THISCLOSE to stealing the election and only failed because he couldn't carry his own state. (as you have noted, I'm from Illinois and I doubt Obama will have the problems Gore had with his own state)

Unfortunately, you want to repeat that strategy in all 50 states by running another open borders compassionate conservative from Texas. Only this guy is far less popular with his state's voters than Bush was in 2000. The funny thing is you're convinced he's the only "electable" Republican.

>> Dont start that GWB was an insider gamer BS with me. <<

Huh? Are you the only person on the planet who DOESN'T think Bush was an insider? I haven't even heard your fellow Perrybots argue Bush was an anti-establishment candidate. Of course he ran on a similar message as Perry (down-to-earth, folksy Texan who is anti-Washington and relates to the average Joe)

Three sources. 1) muslims, 2) ACORN supporters and 3) Perry apologists who think 1 & 2 are just fine.

QUESTIONS PERRY SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO ANSWER

<><> Have you made deals with illegal aliens (1) to exchange campaign cash and votes for gratuities, (2) to use your office to get illegals US govt handouts----free education, EITC, welfare, food stamps, UI, SS, SSI, healthcare, sub-prime mortgages, subsidized bank loans?

<><> Do you know this is a felony?

<><> Do you know which identity illegals use to register to vote for you?

=================================

July 21, 2006----BERGEN RECORD, NJ

Texans accused of selling counterfeit IDs (impoverished illegals "here for a better life" pay several thousand $$$ for fake ID's)

Pelcastre brothers, Angel and Jorge, Dallas, Texas, were a walking threat to US national security, expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, NJ L/E authorities said.

The Texas brothers were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of fake US documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses---- for any state in the US------ passports and resident alien cards, said state police.

The Texas brothers turned a NJ hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local NJ identity broker. Officers happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in a NJ hotel parking lot. Authorities wouldn't identify the NJ hotel by name for fear it would spark retribution. The Drug Interdiction Task Force regularly runs checks.

The Texas brothers were followed to a NJ office supply store nearby where they purchased computer supplies. Officers then followed the Texans to a NJ storage facility in Secaucus, NJ, where the Texans loaded several boxes into a car. One of them stood lookout. Authorities approached the Texas brothers when they returned to the NJ hotel and questioned them separately.

The Texas brothers consented to a search. Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs. All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street when sold to "impoverished illegals." Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a NJ fake document broker for a shipment of 500 phony Social Security cards. ####

The attempt to separate Rick Perry from George W. Bush is not convincing so far. I half expect Perry to nominate Dick Cheney for Vice President.

Interesting article was just posted by indianrightwinger — I hope the implications aren’t true, but on the other hand, it might explain the viciousness of the attacks against Perry.

Sarah Palin stirs the pot but doesn’t announce (Obama 2012 & Palin 2016 in Works?)

That depends which side you are on.

WOW! You could be a propagandist for a lynch mob . . . evidence? Don't need no stinkin' evidence.

Perry got all the votes he needed against Bill White from conservative Texans who saw Bill White for the liberal Democrat he truly was. He didn't need any fake ID'd voters. But that's all right, you just go on posting completely baseless posts implying guilt and relationships where none exists. It only shows just how desperate and extreme you and your bashers are.

Right now, I pretty much have you down as being as sane as any Ron Paulbot . . . and that's pretty far out there, well beyond the Twilight Zone.

Your non-sequitur "connection" can pretty much be restated as "Rick Perry is a Texan, illegals in Texas are selling fake ID's, there fore Rick Perry is selling fake ID's." Nice logic there . . . if you're a lunatic.

Please, Please, post more of these wonderful comments. It's good to get a glimpse of what goes on in the minds of people like you.

Oh, I intend to post and post and post-----maybe people with minds like YOURS will finally "get it"......then, again I seriously doubt it.

The sad thing is that would thrill a lot of people. There is still “draft Cheney” chatter. Even after the guy basically endorsed gay marriage.

No, it does not make you a realist. It makes you someone who will not fight for the best candidate available even though that candidate may be viewed as a long shot by some. Way too many people have your attitude. It makes you a defeatist. Defeatists never win. They end up with a McCain for a candidate and you know what happens then.
