Americans are into the notion of strength through diversity, egalitarian outcomes... Confronting people with this stark contrast to Western law and culture actually is rejected by the ignorant masses (no real perspective or understanding of what they are dealing with) that are secular (no understanding of religion organizing society). You essentially have to treat people like they are idiots and move them a little in your direction, a full dose of reality like this simply gets buried or discarded.
