Irving... that is my town!!

Mine too! Small world. I didn't know you were here. We ought to get together some time.

"The only way to simplify the tax code is to abolish the IRS in its present form completely and have a flat tax."

What's needed is a FAIR tax. Get rid of the IRS completely. Let the states collect the Fair Tax and once a year the federal treasury gets 50 checks from the states

I couldn't agree more, but I'll even take the Flat Tax as an improvement over the progressive income tax regime we have now.

I think the Tea Party should adopt a version of Dylan’s song (surely someone could do better than I did in modifying it) as a theme song. It certainly fits well.

“...well, our government recently gave the drug cartel thousands of firearms and trained Los Zetas at Ft. Benning, GA”.

Say what? Trained Los Zetas at Benning? Why? When? Whose obviously not so bright idea was this? Can you provide more info on this? Thank you.

What takes any of us so long? I wasn't born here either, but I got here as fast as I could!

Tried twice to sign up for this tea party. Nothing and I repeat nothing happened. Not a good sign.

I agree that it's much too long for a letter to Congress, but it would make one hell of a speech. The guy articulates his points as well as Palin does. Great stuff.

Someone gave me a link to them over the weekend and I emailed them looking to join up. I've got to re-check my mail to see if I've had any response.

I just went and checked their website, and they're active. Go to this address and check their Events calendar:

“1) Deep concern about the size of government and federal spending...”

“What’s my point?”

You can say I agree with the above point 1). Now why hasn’t it ever gotten substantively smaller? I would like to hear Congress’ reply to that question.

” a degree in Economics...” Did O have even ONE course in Economics, other than from his Commie Mommy? No one knows because he doesn’t release his records and no one remembers him in college. Oh well, the state of the economy speaks for itself. Then again, the current state of affairs didn’t happen over night. Generations of Dems have squandered US$ and substituted US Bonds for the $ and spent the money for their re-election.

I still have to ask, why do politicians always refer to how smart the electorate is? Not after a public school education. JMO

I agree about the length. Give an executive summary first. Then post the entire letter in a reply.

Obama doesn't know a damn thing about how the real world works. His head was filled to overflowing with Marxist claptrap from the time he was a young teenager, and further solidified by all of his radical associations and 'studies' later on.

It's why he doubles down on his Socialist agenda. It's all he knows.

Like most libs, his mind is well hardened against intrusion by facts, logic, and reason. He can't understand why his policies aren't working. It MUST be those dastardly Republicans stopping him from fully transforming America into a Utopian paradise where unicorns crap magic skittles from the sky and Uncle Sugar feeds everyone, happily ever after.
