Coulter on Palin: Let’s face it, she’s probably not electable

Interesting segment, not because Coulter’s advancing any new criticisms of Palin but because she’s willing to acknowledge openly the political risk on the right in criticizing her in the first place. According to Coulter, conservatives refuse to challenge Palin publicly because they don’t want to deal with the hate mail from her supporters. That’s part of it, I’m sure — by now, all columnists and bloggers know what awaits after criticizing Palin or, say, Ron Paul — but I suspect the better part is that there’s simply no faster ticket to RINOville among some grassroots conservatives than uttering a discouraging word about Sarah. It’s the ultimate “one of us” litmus test; not even a right-winger as stalwart and confrontational as Coulter is immune, apparently, from the inevitable establishment/RINO/sellout/”Beltway cocktail party” nonsense afterward. That said, I’m curious why she’s speaking up now. Has she reached the point where she just doesn’t care anymore? Or is she so worried about the election that she’s willing to lose some fans in the interest of maximizing the GOP’s advantage?

Exit quotation: “She’s become sort of the Obama of the tea party, she’s just ‘The One’ to a certain segment of right-wingers.” Click the image to watch.

Maybe if she says Sarah’s name enough, she’s become relevant....or maybe not.

MY opinion of the top candidates on our side... Mitt Romney is NO Ronald Reagan and comes across as a guy who has bought off a good portion of the insiders on K Street and may have a chance if he avoids offending the mainstream media pundits, but he will not lead us out of this mess

Gov. Perry is all hat no cattle, Perry will not secure our borders and I think he is an opportunist who says what he has to in order to get votes. He was dragged into the Republican party kicking and screaming and will sell out the the left IHO

Bachman is someone I admire for her toughness and willingness to stand up for what she believes, but she is far too robotic, and seems to pass on the tough questions

If I had my choice I would like to see Rubio enter the race, but he is probably too green.

I think Sarah Palin is who will be the one who goes up against Obama and will not allow herself to stoop to his level of ignorance and let him beat her with his experience at that level

I would love to see Sarah Palin in the White House as the POTUS.

I will support her should she decide to run.
She seems to be one of the few out there that actually realizes that Washington DC is broken and needs to be fixed.

I don't think she will run this cycle though.

Palin is a difficult candidate to support not because of her obvious strengths but because she made an unforced decision to abandoned the Governorship of Alaska

You appear to be suffering from unforced ignorance.

This is America, and you are free to be as ignorant as you wish.

And to the other basher's, guess you didn't watch her Iowa speech. She put EVERYONE on notice; She's coming and the TEA Party is coming with her. About damn time those cozy bastards in D.C. feel uptight.

BINGO, I watched her speech in Iowa and she is spot on, no tightrope walking, no afraid of pissing off the fence sitters, just the truth and the facts. Nobody so far is as bold, not even Michelle Bachman. It seems those of my gender on the Right has left their gonads with their campaign managers

I think we need to keep in mind that many of her bashers are not of the Tea Party but are supporters of the corruption wing of the Republican party. At least that's what they say to me when they continually defend the status quo.

She abandoned Leadership

Another damned troll lib lie...

You got that right. If Sarah "abandoned leadership" then she wouldn't have gone on to lead the charge and help the GOP take control the House in the 2010 elections.

Indeed, without Sarah's leadership, the 2010 GOP gains would probably have been significantly more modest.

In the context of the ongoing leadership which Sarah has shown after she resigned as Alaska's governor, the "abandoned leadership" accusation is demonstrably false, and I pity those who succumb to such shallow analysis.

I don’t think so. I just tried to have a “conversation” with a “Palinbot” here on FR. You would think that the simple artifice of asking a reasonable question about Sarah, it tantamount to taking the Lord’s name in vain or something of that magnitude. So many closed minds, so early in the process which gets us nowhere. So let’s just call anyone with whom we disagree “ignorant,” that will really push the dialogue to a new low, won’t it!
