Given that their program states the invite of "will include a bishop, a rabbi, ...", I am willing to guess/bet that the bishop mentioned is probably a "Roman Catholic" Bishop since the officiant clergy at this "National Cathedral" will be the Episcopal Bishop of the Washington Episcopal Diocese.
As a former Episcopalian, I too feel that this lack of American Christian Evangelicals is insulting and an exemplar of snobbery and stupidity.
The Cathedrals A Call to Compassion on September 11 will include a bishop, a rabbi, a Tibetan lama, a Buddhist nun, representatives of the Hindu and Jain faiths, an imam and an Islamic musician.

I said on another thread that there would be an Imam
could you imagine the ruckus if the religion of choice
“America’s religion”
was ignored ???
Islamic musican means no national Anthem, God bless America, America the Beautiful, etc
Theyre all Christian songs..
How ‘bout that Hope and Change!

Not that I know of, they would have gone to St Matthew’s the Catholic Cathedral in DC.
I wouldn’t grouse about it too much. This is probably a blessing. Why would evangelicals want to carouse with all those religions in the National Cathedral? IMO ‘tis a disgrace for them to have such a service at that location.
TY! I tried to get it but they wanted me to register and pay at the NTSlimes. There is all the evidence in the world Obama is a muslim.
Participants will include Cathedral Dean Samuel T. Lloyd III; Bishop of Washington John Bryson Chane; Rabbi Bruce Lustig, Washington Hebrew Congregation; Jetsün Khandro Rinpoche of Tibet, Buddhist nun and incarnate lama; Dr. D.C. Rao, a Hindu priest serving on the Board of Directors of the Interfaith Conference; Imam Mohamed Magid, president of the Islamic Society of North America; and musician Hamayan Khan.
I addition to the “Tibetan lama,” they need a Peruvian llama.
Bingo... no representative for the faith of Protestants...
Chane, 65, became the eighth Bishop of Washington in June 2002. He is known for his passionate support for the full inclusion of gay and lesbian Christians in the Church, his commitment to interfaith dialog, and his outreach to Africa and the Muslim world. [This is from a press release of the Cathedral.]
FYI, he is retiring this fall, wonder if his replacement will be an improvement?
This incident happened within a few hours to one hour after this was announced publically.
“Is this happening under Roman Catholic auspices, or government auspices? “
It’s Catholic and Evangelicals that are shut out. The two are very close in Pro-Life work. Other than that, I can’t really see a connection.
Catholics need not attend.
Surely you jest. Most of the Godly guys have left for Rome.
That after all is the real question.. I was critical of Billy Graham sharing the pulpit with heathens and reprobates at the 1st 9/11 prayer service..
is this event planned, scheduled and coordinated by the WH religious office?? It does have the earmarks of Obama!
