Nauti Nurse....

My hometown is fighting flooding hard. So much damage already from the rains prior....mud slides happening, closing off roads. It’s worse than Agnus and many have stated such.

Sister and hubby are watching their creek which is raging like a river...mud up over bridge so has closed them off on that end...but access still open the long way around. Don’t know how long the bridge will hold...it’s steel and iron and looks to be unstable to say the least.......their flats are totally flooded......house sits up on a good size knoll...but concerning because it’s creeping up the hill so they are on high alert tonight.

The whole area is battling this...it’s very very bad.

Terrible flooding!

How’s Bloomsburg and Berwick doing? I saw Benton is under water.

There are states of emergency in at least three counties in Central NY.

Parts of the NYS Thruway I90 are closed down again.

I could not believe the amount of rain we got yesterday and the day before; it must have been about 5 inches. It was more rain than came with Hurricane Irene.

The forecast today was for a lot more rain and before it even started the sky started clearing and we had a reasonably sunny, mild day. That was a real blessing as we did not need any more rain.

I wish there was some way we could transport it down to TX.....as rain.

Bridge in Montoursville withstood the flood waters. The Loyalsock Creek is going down now, and local danger is past.

I have seen pics of Troy and Towanda...it’s bad up there.

Tonight everyone will be keeping vigil in Wilkes-Barre to see if the flood walls hold.

Gov. Corbett looked very worried in his press conference tonight. Everything is headed to Harrisburg now.

This will be a four or five day event.

Good luck to all those downriver!

Dunno about Bloom or Berwick.
There's not much travelin' to be done around here tonight without a ton of zigzags, as local roads are a total mess.

But there's a link a few posts up from this that I-80 is reopened in Columbia Cty.

The flooding is tragic. Prayers offered for everyone in the path of the raging water.

Hey Freepers!....Alert....Pennsylvania is under a Level 1 flood emergency, the highest level possible.

Rivers are rising near or past record levels from eastern Pennsylvania into central New York, rivaling or surpassing those of Agnes in 1972.

Downtown Harrisburg will be flooded.

Levees could be breached along the Susquehanna River.

Both Hersheypark and ZooAmerica in Hershey, Pa., have been flooded. Some animals didn’t make it as flood waters came so quickly.

Yes ...it’s bad pretty much everywhere....stunningly so.

Couple Zoos flooded....you wonder where they put the snakes and dangerous animals and if they got them out or they’re floating around out there.

The pictures are astounding to see....so much water and it’s been raging. Terrible!

Home town is Troy....have been afraid to look....have to get in te right frame of mind. It’s home....

I have friends in Harrisburg. I’ll have to email them and see if they’re OK.

This flooding is affecting almost everybody in our area. State of emergency declared in many NY counties.

The good news on our front is that our soil is very well drained and we personally will not be seeing any flooding and that the neighbor’s rotted out old maple tree is down, so no need to worry about that any more with winds or saturated soil.

Prayers up for all involved in this flooding. People do not have a clue what water can do. They way under-estimate the force of it.

Matter of fact, prayers for San Diego’s power outage, TX wildfires, Hurricane Marie heading for the coast, and the terror threats heard about in NYC and DC with the anniversary of 9/11 coming up wouldn’t be out of order either.

That’s right...I forgot about the terror threat...been too busy with concerns for family members throught that whole region.

They announced Pa. a Level I flood area...highest that it goes. So many communities under water. Glad to hear you’re safe from it.

Athens Troy and Townada areas all hit hard. Rather overwhelming as all these areas and south into Williamsport and Chemung county, as well as Lancaster County...all areas I have lived and know well. Just terrible!

I’ve been praying since before Irene & keep praying for those hit by floods & fire. So far here in my part of NJ I am fine. Its really wet though so trees are falling. So far no more of mine thankfully!
