Perry vs. Paul: A Texas-sized war
Washington Times ^ | 9/8/11 | Steven Dinan

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. — The scrap between Rick Perry and Mitt Romney may have gotten more attention in Wednesday’s presidential candidates debate, but it was tame compared to the dust-up between Mr. Perry and Rep. Ron Paul, two Texans who apparently have spent plenty of time digging up dirt on each other and aren’t afraid to use it.

At one point when the video cameras weren’t rolling — though the incident was caught by still photographers — Mr. Perry walked over Mr. Paul’s lectern, took hold of the congressman’s wrist and wagged his finger at him.

The physical exchange was matched by the intensity of the two men’s verbal attacks on each other.

Ron Paul and Rick Perry had never met before this debate. Perry lost his cool and grabbed Ron Paul. Would love to know who they guy in the foreground is.

I wouldn’t say he “grabbed” him.

Perry caught RuPaul in a tight spot, hemming and hawing about the letter he wrote to Reagan in ‘87. Far worse than a generalized “don’t forget about us” request from an Ag Commissioner to Hillary 6 months before anyone knew what Hillarycare would consist of.

Check out his hand around Ron Paul's wrist. It doesn't look mutual to me.

grabbed? That is a stretch. Paul needs to leave the Republican party and go away. He will never win, he will never even come close, he is like a gnat that you just cannot swat away - he is just an annoyance.

“Perry lost his cool and grabbed Ron Paul”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How do you know that? Were you there?
No, but “grabbed” is a strong word. We have no idea what they were discussing at this moment, but it probably went like this:
“Don’t f*** with me, Ron. I caught you in a line of bullsh*t and don’t even try that with me again.”
Here we go again, this is going to be another Bush v. Perot grudge match with Ron Paul going third party to split the vote just out of spite.
Ron Paul and Rick Perry had never met before this debate.
How can a Gov. and a Congressman from the same state who have been in office for some time never meet?
Perry’s hand is not around Paul’s wrist, well unless you are looking at a different picture than what is posted.
I can’t believe that nobody at the debate said: “Here we are at the Reagan Library, and here is Rick Perry, who was a Democrat during the Reagan years”.
When Perry said to Romney: “Michael Dukakis created more jobs in Mass. than you did” Romney should have said “You should know, you were a Democrat during those years.”
Romney also could have said that Dukakis was merely the beneficiary of the Reagan Revolution.
Romney is stupid. Perry did ok, but I think he floundered on a few answers.
It’s basically resting on his wrist.
What it looks like is that Perry was attempting to intimidate Ron Paul for points that he couldn’t make with words. Didn’t work very well.
BTW This photo was on the frontpage at Drudge with the words:”UP IN HIS FACE: PERRY GETS AGGRESSIVE...”
It’s a “bless yer heart” type of gesture.
Like “OK Ron, don’t piss me off tonight.”
I like some confrontation. This ain't high school student council we are contesting here. The nation is at dire risk now and if Obama is reelected, certain disaster.
Check out that guy’s hand on the podium. Did he “grab” it too?
Why not come out with what you are thinking? You want to bash Perry? Go ahead.
Or even worse... Are you here to support poor RoPaul?
RoPaul always goes 3rd Party - The Lib. Party.
He’s a fart in a hurricane - he makes no difference.
