Several Senate and House Republicans are planning to skip President Obama's address tonight to a joint session of Congress, in part because they believe he will be showing them nothing new when he unveils his big job creation proposal. But Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., has found a way to keep those pesky Republicans in the building, or at least in his chamber. Reid on Thursday scheduled a vote for after Obama's speech, and it's not one many in the GOP will want to miss. As soon as Obama is done talking, the Senate will proceed to a measure to disapprove a $500 billion increase in the debt limit. Reid's move means that Sen. David Vitter, R-La., has to skip the party he was planning back home to celebrate the opening night of the NFL season, which will feature the Louisiana Saints. "Typical Harry Reid," Vitter wrote in a letter to those invited to his party as well as the media. "Pens in those who would have skipped speech, like me. So now I'll miss my own Saints game party at home."

LOL! I should have read ALL of the comments before posting. You all are way ahead of me on ways to show their displeasure: Mass bathroom break; a wide screen T.V. to watch the pre-game program during the speech; Harry Reid masks and impolite scratching; skunk juice; so many good ones.
I did read that Boehner invited several private business owners who had been hurt by the Obama administration. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2775547/posts
For once I’m rooting for the Packers. I’m from the Chicago area but make my home in WI now, but with Quinn in the governor’s chair, I don’t feel like a flatlander anymore.
And why aren't the Yank's known as the N.Y.C. Yankees?
Not to mention the Texas Rangers? Shouldn't they be the Arlington Rangers?
And the Minnesota Vikings? What city are they in???
I could go on...
I prefer the Bay Packers over the Bayou Saints!
I’ve always liked the Wisconsin Packers along with the Washington Seahawks and the Texas Texans.
500 Billion in spending will cause us to reach the debt limit very soon, way before the election next year. When the dummies found out they wouldn’t make it to the election with the new normal spend rate they calculated that 500 billion now would cause us to reach the limit just before Christmas and now the dreadful Republicans will cause all the children to not get presents if they don’t quickly add 2 trillion to another spending limit.
That would be nice.
I’m hoping the SCOTUS gets up and walks out -if they’re even going to be there..
B$ they all just take it like the wimps they are, remember Trent Lott?

No sympathy here for either Reid or Vitter...
I was being sarcastic.
I'm an Angels fan....Have been for years. Hated forever they called them the California Angels when they moved to Anaheim....then did it right many years later calling them the Anaheim Angels, then went to being the California Angels of Los Angeles???? Freaking morons!! LOL!!!
No worries!!
