President Obama on Thursday night will appeal to Congress to "stop the political circus" and help him get the economy moving again with a package of spending and tax cut initiatives expected to cost $447 billion.
"The people of this country work hard to meet their responsibilities," Mr. Obama will say before a joint session of Congress, according to his prepared remarks. "The question tonight is whether we'll meet ours. The question is whether, in the face of an ongoing national crisis, we can stop the political circus and actually do something to help the economy."
Calling his economic package the "American Jobs Act," Mr. Obama plans to tell the legislature that Washington can't turn the economy around itself, but it can provide a boost to the private sector. The bill "will provide a jolt to an economy that has stalled, and give companies confidence that if they invest and hire, there will be customers for their products and services," Mr. Obama will say.
The president will tell Congress, "you should pass this jobs plan right away," arguing that his plan is fully comprised of ideas that have in the past gained bipartisan support. Furthermore, every idea in his bill will be paid for, he'll say.

Obama just wants to spend us furthur into debt. He will read his teleprompter and the Demcrats sitting as props will look like a bunch of blind small minded fools. The media will read the Democrat talking points. The Packer football game seems like the better ticket tonight.
FUBO!
The payroll tax cut extension through 2012
is the one thing we’ll like about it.
But that wouldn’t ‘cost’ 1/2 trillion for 1 year.
Something’s up.
If he actually uses that circus line I hope the Republicans get up and walk out.
More sh## in a pretty package he has lied to the American people from day one and continues to do so. Tell them what they want to hear
What a Peas of Sh!t president.
Cantor should be giving the speech tonight.
Hey ZERO, you dont need a teleprompter to come out and tell the American people youre eliminating the EPA. Thus, doing away with all the regulations theyve imposed on the private sector. Simple plan you ignorant imbecile.
There, fixed it for you!!
What a friggin' waste of time.
Time to rip that band-aid off Barry, and eat your pea’s.
Who Dat?
The RESPONSIBLE people of this country work their asses off to pay their bills AND their taxes....so that the Democrat voterbase can live their parasitic lives, on the backs of others, and the Unions can continue to rape them with exhorbitant wages, benefits, work rules, etc. (both Government and Private Sector Unionistas), and the result is products that are over-priced and lower quality than imports.
Who's zoomin' who, here?
In other words, they need to pass it to see what's in it, right?
I think pretty much EVERYONE out there has reached the conclusion that Hussein is clueless on what to do about jobs.
The right wants him to give up ObamaCare and cut taxes and knows that isn't going to happen. The left wants another trillion dollars and huge tax increases and knows that isn't going to happen. The Indies don't want their TV schedule interrupted for ANY reason, let alone a politician.
No matter what he says tonight, he loses.
"NOT ONE RED CENT ON THE COMMIE'S LATEST BOONDOGGLE!"
FUBO GTFO ! 499 Days until Noon Jan 20, 2013 - Hell Yes, change is coming!
I can't imagine Obama appealing to anyone.
Adding 500 billion more + interest to the debt.. Paid for how? Increased taxes won’t work because for every dollar of tax increase you raise in a down economy the result is a lose of $2 of revenue in income tax because these so called rich you are taxing are what is creating jobs so the more you take from them the less they have to create jobs and stimulate the economy.
Half the size of THE Stimulus.
Half the success that came from it.
