To: worst-case scenario
NOAA has been fudging temperature data for a while now. There are far more thermometers recording temperature data than are used for calculating these so-called "average" temperatures. The data they get is solely dependent on which thermometers they select. Don't believe any summaries they publish until they make ALL of the actual temperature data available.

Have you ever seen the "Texas thermometer"? Where is it? Have you ever seen the "US Thermometer"? Where is it? Of course, there isn't any. The data are all calculated, from data that is not made available to you and me.

I know, I know. The old joke, during the automobile hay day, was that if you needed to give the US an enema, you would place the tube in Akron, Ohio. I suppose you could put the thermometer there, too.

Do you have a site that you regard as more accurate than NOAA?

“NOAA has been fudging temperature data for a while now.”

do you have any more information on this? I had always thought of NOAA as a fairly reputable source when it came to this type of information. Where did you find out they are “fudging” the numbers?
