Being a service-connected disabled veteran, I get pretty much free healthcare from the Veteran's Affairs medical centers, but I can't bring that up in an interview because the word “disabled” is stigmatizing and many employers DO NOT like veterans, especially the female and metrosexual human resources types. They seem to think you'll go postal from a flashback or attack their Asian customers or something. LOL

Wow. That sound's like a lawsuit against an employer just waiting to happen, and I'm not big on lawsuits. But if the shoe fits...f*ck 'em. I would think all you need to do is just hint at a discrimination lawsuit. Then again, if your disability can't allow you to fulfill the duties, well, you're probably out of luck. Still, the Disability Act was very wide reaching. Best of luck, Vet.

Don’t mention that you’re disabled, just mention that you are eligible for VA health care and won’t be needing their health insurance.
Most civilian employers won’t know the difference and your disability won’t be an issue.
