Leftist Dana Milbank writing an opinion piece in the liberal Washington Post basically stating that Barack Obama is no longer relevant and that his political opposition is actually laughing at him as he speaks signals the demise of this presidents administration. Milbank even states that Obama can't get anything done that is "big (read: expensive) enough to do any good." I'm grateful for that but as I see Obama's chances for a second term dwindling faster than an ice cube in hell, I can't shake the fear that the weeks between his defeat on election day, November 6th, 2012 and inaugural day, January 20th, 2013 could prover disastrous for America in ways we cannot even imagine. I hope I'm wrong.

He has been so surrounded by yes-people, i don't think he has any idea of how wooden and robotic he sounded.

Most presidents age while in office in that they get older like all human beings BUT he looks especially haggard

Milbank’s error, no excuse for a political reporter, David Wu was Oregon’s (Portland’s) congressman, not Washington’s. We have our own idiots to worry about.

And ... he’s being laughed at.

Well his little tantrum before a joint session is getting a reaction on Wall Street. But nobody is laughing.

There are those who would claim the stock market is down 317 point because of Obama’s speech, but that is just a guess.

Just be yourself. There is nothing to fear. Liberal America got their President and he sucks.

Well, his first and last term hasn’t went very well.

Didn’t he speak again today someplace?

President Obama gave one of the most impassioned speeches of his presidency when he addressed a joint session of Congress on Thursday night

"it is a tale. Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, Signifying nothing."

Shakespeare must have forseen 0bama

*******

I don't understand President Obama's timing: Why in the world did he choose the opening night of NFL football to give his speech, a speech that he hoped would energize all Americans to accept his Jobs bill?

I bet at least half of the Congressmen present and a lot of other Americans watching Obama's speech were continuously looking at their watches to make sure that they didn't miss the 8:30 p.m. start of the game between New Orleans and Green Bay, a game that was exciting and whose outcome surprisingly was not decided until the very last second.

The Green Bay-New Orleans game was so exciting, I wouldn't be surprised that by the time the game ended, many American football fans were so distracted by the exciting game that they clearly forgot that Obama had even made a very "important" speech shortly before the game started.

Poor Obama. With each passing day, it looks like more and more voters are yawning when Obama speaks and realizing that Obama, sadly, just does not have the leadership skills and business sense to be re-elected President on election day Nov. 2012.

Well it wasn't caused by the Packers game. It opened over 200 points to the down side so whatever spooked it happened last night. Sure there is a lot of other bad news out there for the markets. But there just aren't that many things that happened between the closing bell yesterday and opening bell today.

I think the market expected Obama to go with permanent cuts to regulations and taxes to a greater extent. Instead all the tax breaks are temporary and the spending can't be paid for. Until Obama gave his speech there was still hope that he would come to his senses and put aside ideology for practical proposals. What you are seeing is hope coming out of the market.

Yes it is a guess, but it is not one without some basis.

Dana Milbank was one of the nastiest Bush-haters in the Washington press corps during the Bush years. Bill Sammon writes about him in Fighting Back--he had already established a reputation for insulting GWB that even the other liberal reporters found a bit shocking by 9/11. Not surprisingly he has been a regular on MSNBC more recently.

Sounded like some off beat church revivalist preaching to his congregation. Really sad, I hope we don’t get but one more of this idiotic appearances to the Congress before he is out of there, the SOU next year, unless he can be impeached before then.

Nothing but a campaign speech in a blue suit. In fact, after you say he talks well, dresses well and looks good, you have said it all about that empty suit.

“””Why in the world did he choose the opening night of NFL football to give his speech, a speech that he hoped would energize all Americans to accept his Jobs bill?””

Obama’s original intent was to disrupt Rick Perry’s first debate by coming up with this idea of his speech conflicting with the GOP debate.

Boehner let Obama know that Obama is not a king.

The stock starting falling apart in July when Washington could not come to any agreement to curtail the deficits.

So this move today is just a continuation of the downward move that started six weeks ago.

If Obama had said he quits last night, then the stocks would have rallied today.

Anything else is just a continuation.
