We just overturned it but Jenny Granholm simply made all college students eligible for food stamps regardless of need.

About 2 weeks back we cut some 30,000 college students off food stamps. It will save something like $75 million per year.

Unfortunately it will put a damper on the beer and cigarette industry in your state.

HUH?? Individual states can do that? I always assumed that the food stamp program was a federal needs based program and if, for instance, a student was a dependent that most wouldn’t even qualify. How did the governor justify that decision?
