Our troops should be out of there. As far as I am concerned we have accomplished all we are going to there (kill Bin Laden) and if the Afghans don’t want to bother working with us, let them rot too. We need to use a few tactical nukes as well, fifty, or better, eighty, to make of for those lost among Seal Team Six, in addition to the fifty wounded now.

I’m pretty sure you know this and are simply venting your frustration, but the U.S. Military does not use tactical nukes unless it were in the most extraordinary circumstances.

Where would the battlefield be...you use tactical nukes on a battlefield...? You don’t use them to indiscrimanently kill anybody and everybody who happen to be in an area, friend, foe, neutral, women, babies, etc. because you’re angry about a ‘copter shootdown and a suicide bombing.

I hope you understand that even without Obama at the helm and even without political correctness in the top brass, the U.S. Military’s own doctrines would not allow for what you want.

The question is, what do we do about Afghanistan? Hussein Obama says we’re pulling out no matter what, and it is obvious the Taliban gain traction with the people there just by that Obama declaration. The Taliban are brutal to anyone who dares side with “the enemy”, and when “the enemy” announces in advance, hey, we’re leaving no matter what, the Taliban have the people there in a vice grip, through fear and violent intimidation.

In addition to that, Afghanistan as a culture is hopeless. They will always be what they’ve always been. No amount of bloodshed or money spent will change that.

Tactical nukes would not stop the Taliban, but it would inflame the world. Oh and by the way, it is under the NATO umbrella that we are in Afghanistan. Can you imagine European + Turkish NATO sanctioning tactical nukes in Afghanistan when even the U.S. Military’s own doctrines would preclude their use there??

As stated, I suppose you are simply venting your feelings.

I agree with you, our troops should be long gone from Afghanistan, especially since bin Laden and many other top al quaida leaders have been taken out - along with probably tens of thousands of Taliban, al Quaida and their sympathizers. Not much else we can do. The islamofacists will just keep waging a war of attrition, killing as many Americans as possible while caring less about their own losses. I say we out to stay only for a three month bombing session, night and day, day and night, killing as many of these murderous cockroaches as possible, and then forget about Afghanistan altogether. The Afghan people are rats, turning on our troops all the time. They don’t like Americans, so let the Taliban move back in and show them what Afghanistan will be like without us. Maybe after a year or two of mass, bloody murders perpetrated against the Afghanistan people by the Taliban and al Quaida, they’ll beg us to return, and next time actually welcome us and help us to victory. But I still think the only help we should give them is air support and satellite intelligence, no more. Let them defend themselves with NATO air support. If they truly want to rid themselves of the Taliban pigs, then NATO air supportand intelligence will be all they’ll need.
