Keep in mind a little history - Sarah Palin was PERSECUTED by harrassment lawsuits which were without merit, yet so long as she was Governor of Alaska, they interfered greatly whith her discharge of duties as Governor. The fastest way to resolve virtually all of these lawsuits was to resign, and remove the governorship as the target of this petty (and expensive) guttersniping.

So to say that she “quit under fire” is to misrepresent the facts. She did it to restore the power of the Governor’s office.

Her current strategy (poised to run, but not yet announcing) keeps the snipers off-balance and uncertain of how to proceed against her.

And if she chooses not to run officially, but is subject to a draft at the Republican convention, who could bet against that?

I keep hearing supposed Sarah Palin supporters quote this exact same idea, but there is no logic to it. If Sarah Palin has to hide herself during the Republican nomination because she won't be able to keep up with her opponents and her "snipers" during that time, would she THEN have to hide herself during the national, general election so the snipers won't be able to go against her? THEN when she is President, will she have to hide herself THEN so the snipers won't greatly interfere with her discharge of duties as the President of The United States?

It is just silly to think it makes sense that Sarah Palin has to hide because she can't handle the Republican nomination process but that suddenly she can handle Obama's syndicate, the Democrat Party, unions, fairly and unfairly jilted staff, volunteers, or political co-workers, and all that stuff she couldn't handle before.

Those who spout this nonsensical reason for why Sarah Palin has not been able to join the race yet, citing she has to hide in the corner because she is unable to handle the tough things NOW, seem to be trying to paint a very vivid picture to the general public that she won't be able to handle the even tougher things LATER. It is nothing but an assault on Sarah Palin at all levels; it reminds us ALL that she quit her job in Alaska because of those snipers (who will STILL be sniping during the general election and sniping more during any Presidency she might have), and if any REAL Sarah Palin supporters don't get this yet, they need to wake up and see it.

Sarah Palin is not running because she is not running - NOT because the only chance she has of winning the Republican nomination is to hide in the initial processes.
