Twenty-two people in the areas affected by the Bastrop Complex fire have not yet been accounted for, Bastrop County Sheriff Terry Pickering said today.
However, he emphasized that that does not necessarily mean that any of them perished in the weeklong, 34,000-acre forest fire east of Bastrop.
We have about 17 people we have not heard from, Pickering said in a news conference. Some of these people may have been on vacation, or whatever.
Actually, the list involves 12 individuals and five couples, a total of 22 people.

Question for anyone that may know.
Is US 71 still closed to through traffic from say LaGrange to Austin?
From your link...”The status of the other 19 people on the list remains unclear at this time.”
I don’t have numbers in front of me but I don’t think IKE destroyed that many homes.
I guess it depends upon the way they are counted. But Ike did a number on many locations from Port Arthur westward past Galveston.
Report: Ike damaged half the homes in Harris County
Shoreacres hardest-hit by Ike, study finds
Hurricane Ike damaged almost half the homes in Harris County and left more than 18,000 dwellings uninhabitable, according to a detailed assessment by the Harris County Housing Authority.
Hardest hit was the small Galveston Bay community of Shoreacres, an all-residential town where 58.6 percent of the homes were destroyed or suffered greater than 50 percent damage, according to the assessment provided to the Houston Chronicle Tuesday.
The report, based on inspections of 774,000 of the countys 994,000 residential units from Sept. 23 through Nov. 13, is the most comprehensive assessment to date of the destruction caused by Ike, although its limited to residential damage in Harris County.

Texas failed to stand up to Billy Jeff’s burning of Waco. Why should Hussein want to stop burning Christians now?
I came home from labor day weekend (after visiting my dad who is battling terminal cancer) to a shattered sliding glass door, tempered glass everywhere (500.00 job); a garbage disposal that needed fixing, a flooded dishwasher, and then our A.C. went out very shortly after that. Normally something like this would really get me down but when I reflect on what is going on in Texas, it really puts things in perspective.
Prayers going up!!1
Prayer Against Storms
Prayer against storms, lightning, earthquake
Jesus Christ, King of Glory, has come in peace. God became man. Christ suffered. Christ was crucified. Christ died. Christ rose from the dead. Christ ascended into heaven. Christ conquers. Christ reigns. Christ orders. May Christ protect us from all storms, lightning and earthquake. Christ went through their midst in peace. And the Word was made flesh. Christ is with us with Mary. Flee you enemy spirits because the Lion of the Generation of Judah, the Root David, has won.
Holy God, Holy Mighty God, Holy Immortal God, have mercy on us and on the whole world. Amen. (3x)
Jesus, King of Mercy, I trust in you! Amen.
I would also urge all Texans to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
