LONDON (Reuters) - Former President Al Gore will renew his 30-year campaign to convince skeptics of the link between climate change and extreme weather events this week in a 24-hour global multi-media event.

"24 Hours of Reality" will broadcast a presentation by Al Gore every hour for 24 hours across 24 different time zones from Wednesday to Thursday, with the aim of convincing climate change deniers and driving action against global warming among households, schools and businesses.

The campaign also asks people to hand over control of their social networking accounts on Facebook and Twitter to it for 24 hours to deliver Gore's message.

"There will be 200 new slides arguing the connection between more extreme weather and climate change," Trewin Restorick, chief executive of the event's UK partner Global Action Plan, told Reuters on Monday.

"There will be a full-on assault on climate skeptics, exploring where they get their funding from."

somehow...I suspect the concept of making people pay to breath and pass gas just isn’t a real easy sell...just a guess there-

Actually, the plasic bottles allow me to use less deisel to keep it going. It’s kinda interesting. I produce so little “final” garbage that I drop it off at the trash receptical at the gas station every couple of fill-ups.

That includes recycling the aluminum, which is actually worth something.

I will start with a very simple question Mr Gore. If you believe in Global Warming / Climate Change and the obvious need to reduce one’s carbon footprint, why did you buy your new modest ocean-view bachelor pad ($9 million / six fireplaces / five bedrooms / nine bathrooms) in Montecito, California? Why do I smell a scam artist at work?

350 Million Dollars (of our money), or 350 pounds? Just asking.

Using some of the ideas at this site

http://www.ush2.com

can actually make some good use of your garbage.

(Convert it to H2, CO, and other burnable hydrocarbons, and run them through a generator.)

"24 Hours of Reality" will broadcast a presentation by Al Gore every hour for 24 hours...

So it will be 1 hour repeated 24 times. Isn't there something in the Constitution about "cruel and unusual punishment?"

If watching Sponge Bob causes attention deficit, Al Gore’s narrative of 200 slides should cause catatonia.

How about he debate a skeptic rather than a 24 hr lecture? Settled Science as a drinking game could kill.

Selling “things” [carbon credits] that REPRESENT air

just isn’t an easy sell.

It’s not even “selling air”, it’s selling “fiat air”.

Funny how nobody ever sees a need to “convert” people who are skeptical about gravity.
