It would all be so easy if we got married because of desire to please our future spouse rather than our desire to be pleased by a future spouse.

Considering that women initiate the vast majority of divorces, here's a simple solution that will drop the divorce rate considerably: "You want out? Fine. The other spouse gets the kids, though. Have a nice day."
