I have to say I’ll vote for the Republican. I can’t in good conscious throw away my vote and take a chance on this evil to persist that we have.

I agree with you. I just don't think I'll be skipping to the polls to vote for most of those standing up there tonight...

she gave the dems their new talking points.

Pointing out the Merck ties is not new and has been mentioned on this board several times in previous threads. It's certainly no new revelation.

“I don’t see Gingrich having much chance, but I am glad he is participating in the process — it helps to rehabilitate his persona, helping to move him past his baggage and will therefore make him a more effective voice on the issues in the future which makes it harder for the national media to ignore or marginalize him.”

By far the most intelligent person on that stage was Newt; too bad about his past. Ron Paul was the least intelligent. I guess Paul went into politics because he was too incompetent to practice medicine.

More women die from HPV-related cancers than people die each year from chicken pox, measles, mumps, combined - and yet we have mandatory vaccinations for all of those other diseases.

Are you retarded? Perry doesn't defend this garbage but you do. Own stock in Merck or what?

People may not be aware that very young Junior High School students are engaging in oral sex because they consider it ‘safe’. I have even read of it happening in Elementary schools. They are in danger of contracting the HPV virus.

Thank you, Bill Clinton, for creating an epidemic to threaten our young people.

Do you think it is possible that they see that Sarah is RIGHT in what she is saying? and that she has the balls to say it, so if she is going to pave the way, they are going down the path she is creating. Very interesting times.

Not a chance in hell she'll endorse Perry before the RNC, especially now.

And now we know for sure she was talking about Perry in her Iowa speech.

I'm a bit more shocked Newt is praising Sarah.

Greta always soes a good interview of Palin. I think that Greta (despite her Dem background) truly likes Sarah and Todd. You can see the warmth coming through. She doesn’t hold back on her questions to SP, but she’s not snarky either.

On the other hand, Sarah is a straight shooter in her answers. It’s always an engaging interview when GVS and SP get together.

Really? Was it put on a ballot for the people to vote?

Good grief, we live in a republic, not a democracy. How about understanding how our system works!

Santorum, Gingrich, Romney all did well tonight. Perry absorbed the blows and while I do not like any form of any “Dream” act, I like his explanation of why he did it and what the Dream act of Texas is.

Bachmann needs to learn to answer the question she is asked and to not lie about others positions, in the HPV order, there was an opt out. If there was an opt out, it is not “force.” As one that rails against the mandate in Obamacare, she should know the difference.

Cain did not hurt himself but I can’t see him moving up. Huntsman is an idiot.

The only real loser tonight was Wrong Paul. The man is flat out dangerous on foreign policy.

4000 women dies from cervical cancer. Adult women. Not children in 6th grade.

I don’t think it’s so much that, but it’s that a program like that makes others want to take advantage of it. So more will come in and say “well, if we can sneak in and stick around for 3 years we get the benefits”. It makes it harder because more people will sneak into other states and then say “well, look what they did in TX, why don’t you do it here?”. It makes it harder for Govs in other states to resist. Especially if Perry wins the nomination. Imagine Obama saying “Look, even the GOP nominee supported the Dream act on the state level, if it’s good enough for TX it’s good enough for the US”.

I think those are the bigger issues. It just adds incentives to continue illegal immigration.

We need to do everything we can to discourage it. Say “you will get no benefits, none”.

She wasn’t shrill. She was tough. All you guys go to the shrill word when you don’t like the message. And Perry fumbled around and seemed confused (and frankly, stunned) by her denunciation of his executive order.

And not every Southern male is Ashley Wilkes. I’ve learned that lesson well enough here on FR.
**************
I’m a woman and I think Bachman was shrill, sounded like a nag, keeps bragging about herself (same thing all the time) and when she gets going, gets wound up and talks louder and louder. Doesn’t take a breath. It’s hard to listen to her.

And I agree with 90% of what she says. Just don’t think I could listen to that for four years. I feel the same way about Ron Paul. And I thought Rick Santorum was a real snot tonight. He reminded me of Eddie Haskel on “Leave it to Beaver.”
