As long as Islam is around, they’ll never do it. We had our big chance in Iraq to prevent them from enshrining Islam in their constitution, and we didn’t do it...and now it is rapidly turning back into a nest of squabbling Muslims killing each other and hating the Great Satan, and Mookie is offering to give us safe passage on the way out if we promise to go quietly.

Same in Afghanistan. If we had really enforced a secular government and given those forces a chance to get stronger, things would be different. But we bowed before Islam and let the islamists gain power again and this is the result.

It’s sad that they are killing each other. Not so sad that we should continue to sacrifice our young people to save them.

The key question is whether or leaving would make America less safe. I don’t see Afghanistan or Iraq having an impact on that anymore.

Considering Egypt and the rest of North Africa is going under the thumb of the radicals.

Even if we were able to suppress Islam in both Afghanistan and Iraq for a couple of generations, at the end, Islam will become resurgent. Just take a look at once Secular Turkey flexing their military muscle over Israel right now.

The truth of it all is that Islam was the enemy, is the enemy, and always will be the enemy. Our liberal, moral relativist and multi culti “leaders” will not accept that, and therefore every one of these nation building exercises is doomed to failure.

Democracy is antithetical to Islam. Islam must be marginalized in a state or that state will become a theocracy.

We don’t have the balls to say “our society is superior, and your Islamic society sucks, but that’s your gig. Don’t mess with us.”

A “War on Terror” is asinine in concept, unlimited in scope, and can be directed at anyone the government says is a terrorist.

Send thanks to this idiot

His idea ("beartrap") was to destroy secular regime in Afghanistan and install Islamofascists.

911 was an advance payment. Full payback is in progress. U.S. resources are spread thin from Libya to Pakistan, with the hell in between (Egypt/Turkey/Iran) and the trouble outside (Taiwan Strait, Korean peninsula) Into the valley of Death Rode the six hundred... Afghanistan is not a country, never was and probably never will be. But it is a lasting marker of geopolitical foolishness of those who want to rule the world but can not rule their own purse. British. Soviets. A dire lesson for America.
