A day after presenting Congress with legislation for his $447 billion jobs proposal, President Barack Obama will visit an Ohio school to showcase the plan's $25 billion for modernizing public schools nationwide.
The president will talk about how a multimillion-dollar modernization at the Fort Hayes Arts and Academic High School in Columbus, which he will visit today, has improved the environment in which students learn while creating local jobs, Josh Earnest, a White House spokesman, said. The administration estimates the school plan would create hundreds of thousands of construction, engineering and maintenance jobs and help as many as 35,000 public schools.
Showcasing a school in the home state of House Speaker John Boehner, an Ohio Republican, gives Obama an opportunity to pressure Republican congressional leaders who say the U.S. cannot afford more stimulus spending.
Ohio public schools could get $985 million for K-12 schools, supporting an estimated 12,800 jobs, said U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan. "This is not a partisan issue," Duncan said on a conference call.
Duncan said school modernization is "the right plan at the right time" as the administration looks for ways to reduce the nation's 9.1 percent unemployment rate.

I just ran the numbers and if obama’s bill passes as he has presented passes, my federal tax liability increases 11.22 times.
The man is insane, delusional, stupid, communist or all of them.
He needs to be removed from office now, we will not survive if he is reelected.
If $1 Trillion bucks doesn't create ONE significant, as in long-lasting and gainful, job, how does half that create "hundreds of thousands of jobs?"

After the shellacking the Democrats received in the 2010 House elections, which surviving Democrats are willing to campaign in 2012 on being the one to file Obama's bill?
Pelosi is probably the only one who can get away with it, perhaps with Barbara Lee being a close second, considering the "safeness" of their districts.
Maybe they can get Maxine Waters to do it!

A similar bill was put up in the Dem controlled congress between '08 and '10 and WENT ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE because the Dems didn't want to face the voters about the TAX INCREASES it contained.
