Quakes have been happening in AL...for many years.
Earthquakes happen all the time in LA - Lower Alabama , but that is usually my belly growling.
It was pretty bad. Almost knocked my trailer off the blocks.
That’s a nice little jolt...just enough to make you say “What was that?”
Thanks for the info...
If you follow the line of the Appalachians, it points right at Birmingham.
Me? I like heart attack games. My fave was the 17-16 win in 1973(?). My mom and dad went to the game and I stayed home and listened on the radio. What a game, and I had over an hour to decorate the front door in blue and orange pom poms before dad got home.
Funny, if you'll excuse a little reminiscing on my part, ... I can remember the very day that I became an Auburn fan. My dad and one of my uncles were listening to a Bama game on the radio, back when Joe Willie was quarterback, and I had never seen my dad so animated over sports. I was a little kid of 6 or 7, but that didn't stop me from wanting to get under my dad's skin. Our relationship of picking on one another always seemed to exist :)
Dad was cheering on Bama and as I strolled through the living room I calmly stated that I was for Auburn and kept on going.
Fightin' words in our home, I assure you. My parents drove crimson vehicles, my mom's always had a white landau top. We always had a dog named Bear. My dad had a man cave with Bama memorabilia before we knew what a man cave was! The chair in his office at work was upholstered in hounds tooth cloth.
Well, the rivalry continued and grew over the years, even after I finished school and moved to Texas. We'd bet silly stuff like if he won the Iron Bowl, I would have to wear a pair of Bama socks to work for a week. Not so bad except I wore nice suits and stylish shoes to work and was in the courthouse several times a day. The socks were hilarious!
Dad's gone and I miss those silly bets. I thank you for taking me back for a few minutes and I appreciate you reading all of it (if you ever got this far - ha!). And I still have a dog named Bear. Dad would have liked that.
