Perry suggests Romney sounds like a liberal

BOSTON (AP) -- A day after they clashed at a GOP presidential debate, Texas Gov. Rick Perry told conservatives in rival Mitt Romney's home state that their former governor sounds like a liberal.

And without naming him directly, Perry said Romney has changed his position on Social Security.

"Other candidates in this race have used words like `fraud' and compared it to a criminal enterprise," Perry said, referencing language Romney used in his book to discuss issues involving Social Security. "Under the media spotlight, they change their tune and they start sounding like liberals."

Perry made the comments at a dinner hosted by a Massachusetts conservative think tank, roughly a mile from Romney's campaign headquarters.

He did not clarify how Romney sounds like a liberal, nor did he take questions from voters or reporters.

Well this will be fun.

Call Romney whatever one wants, but he never headed up a campaign for Algore as a democrat.

Meanwhile, Romney bashed Reagan and tried to out-liberal Ted Kennedy when running in 1994 and pronounced his undying love of abortion as recently as 2002. He also enforced gay marriage in Massachusetts, signed a socialized medicine bill, and an "assault weapons" ban.

I'm tired of people pussy-footing around with Romney.

The man doesn't just sound like a liberal. He IS one!

Back in 1980, Al Gore was more conservative than Romney’s ever been...

Romney implemented socialist healthcare, and a decade ago tried to run to the left of Ted Kennedy in his losing Senate race. Perry is not desirable on some issues, but is a conservative superstar on others. Romney has virtually nothing in his record to demonstrate his conservatism.

On the flip side, if Perry somehow lets Romney run to his right, he is not up for the challenge in 2012 against Obama
and his media lackeys. Perry has the potential, but he must continue to improve in these debates to hold his place. He’s taken a lot of fire and held fairly strong without major issues, but he has to get more nimble.

It was 1988, and Gore had just had successive years of low scores by the ACU. 8, then 6, then 8.

8 = flaming lib bordering on Marxist. Get over this myth that he was a "conservative" democrat because he wasn't.

Romneycare= Ultra conservative brilliant self sustaining medical plan consisting of nothing but options and voluntary participation, created by a strict conservative.

Obamacare= Mandatory Marxist confiscatory tyrannical control of health care to increase the power of statist government over the people, imposed by a Communist Muslim anti American.

Sure he was, why do you think his own party made fun of him and only let him be Clinton’s running mate instead of their star? Standing in his father’s imagine he should’ve had the whole party behind him...he didn’t. Because by that time the commiecrats had taken the party over.

I was around in 1988, you can’t fool me with your krap.

I dont much care what Perry was 25 years ago. Romney IS an opportunist hack with no grounded philosophy; he will surely disappoint. Cant say Im at all sure Perry will.

Clinton won the primary, duuuuuh.

Look up his ACU ratings, it's on the ACU website, then you can apologize for being so foolish.

I’m no Romney fan, but Perry is closer to Romney on the RINO scale than his ardent followers would have you believe. Heck, he’s a clone of McCain and W on illegal immigration, even worse than Romney on that score.

I don’t need to look up his ACU ratings. That doesn’t mean KRAP to me. I know that Al Gore stood right in his father’s VERY CONSERVATIVE footprints! Of course, Clinton won the primaries....the commiecrats had taken over and they weren’t about to let Gore near the White House...they pulled out all the stops for an unknown full blown commie named Clinton.

AGAIN, your fake krap is not going to fool me.

Romney is fighting calling SSA a Ponzi scheme.. because those words are hyperbolic BUT TRUE...

SAA is PURE Ponzi scam.. its the definition of Ponzi..
SOooo... Romney is spreading propaganda.. and disinformation..
He KNOWS it is a Ponzi scheme but is fighting the concept.. ON PURPOSE..

Whatever Romney “is” he is NOT what America needs..
He is fighting for the wrong team.. What team?..
There are many names for that team.. “liberal” will do...

LOL.

Let's try this again, 8 on the ACU rating = flaming lib bordering on Marxist. He got a rating of 8, in 86, 6 in 87, and 8 in 88. The only fake thing here is your memory, or perhaps you were fooled into believing he was "conservative".

Whichever, facts are stubborn things.

I don't think people realize that between Mittens and Rick, Mittens will be hogging the airwaves AT LEAST as much as zero does, while doing nothing, while Rick will be too busy draining the DC swamp with extreme prejudice, personally, to comment.

He needs Bolton as his press sec.

Romney is liberal but even he didn’t give illegal felons welfare for college. I think they both stink. We should be concentrating on getting Cain, Bachmann, Santorum and Palin when she announces elected. They are the four real conservatives.

Okay, let’s try 1987, now scroll down to Tennessee Senator and go “fake” your outrage somewhere else: http://www.conservative.org/ratings/ratingsarchive/1987/sen_riwy.html
