The real issue here is the difference between soft drinks made with high fructose corn syrup and those made with sugar.
I don't care what any study like this says -- sugar is better. You get a refreshing clean aftertaste with sugar and a kind of funky ugh aftertaste with corn syrup.

Mexican coke and Pepsi are also in glass containers, that makes a big difference as well.

Agree on all counts. In fact, I had a Mexican coke with my lunch today (12 oz. glass bottle).

I prefer RC Cola to any of the Coke/Pepsi products. It tastes like the old coke before they changed it.

Some people are so lucky. By the time it gets this far north it has been stomped on so much it is merely the stale winterbrown kind.

Yes, sugar is much better.
It has a more refreshing taste and is less syrupy. A glass bottle makes all of the difference in the world too. I can't stand the nasty plastic bottles; it gets warm and flat too quickly.

I have done my own taste tests and the SUGARED product wins every time. Time to kill the US Sugar Cartel.

Coke Light, the Mexican version of Diet Coke, is better than its American counterpart. They are both inferior to my new addiction, Coke Zero.

"People prefer glass bottles to aluminum cans from a purely tactile standpoint." Not true! The tactile sensation of crushing the container after knocking back the drink is uncomfortable when it was in glass.

They now sell Pepsi Throwback year round at my local WM.
Previously it was only available at certain times of the year.
Also 7UP and Dr. Pepper made with cane sugar.

No truth in advertising invovled in the title here ;-). Perhaps the title would have been better with the term coca-cola?

I recently found some Mexican Coca-Cola here in Florida at my local Publix. I grabbed a bottle, brought it home and stuck it in the fridge. A couple of days later, I opened it and was really surprised. It was just like I remember, clean, crisp and surprisingly, took me all day to finish it. After finishing it, I didn't want another Coke for a few days. It made me remember when I was a kid we only drank pop *maybe* once or twice a week. I'm convinced the HFCS enables you to drink more than if it were pure cane sugar.

No question!
Now I need to find cane sugar Dr. Pepper and Frostie Rootbeer.

Oh, and I prefer my coke with a shot and a half of Maker’s Mark ;-)

When the gangs have a guy tied to a chair and start shaking a bottle of soda he generally doesn’t think about taste.

Time to kill the US Sugar Cartel.
I know about the sugar tariffs, but I suspect the real enemy is the much more powerful CORN industry.
