BTW, the immigrants in the district that Schumer was referencing in the posted piece were recent immigrants from the Soviet Union (mostly Jewish), as Schumer said in his media teleconconference. At least Schumer seems to bluntly concede that this group is inclined to vote more conservative because of their history of repression by the Soviet regime.

Wasserman Schultz is bubbling with optimism about Obama's chances for re-election next fall. When asked specifically whether NY-9 had any implications for the Jewish vote in Florida next year, she was cocky about Obama's "strong record" for Israel, as well as the 'Rats positions on "a women's right to choose," civil rights and civil liberties, health care, education, and "opportunity for all" creating overwhelming victories for Obama and the 'Rat ticket. It's always helpful to go up against an opponent whose head is in the sand.
