My niece has HPV. .... I wish there was something she could have taken when diagnosed, but I believe it must be taken before diagnosis.

The vaccine must be taken and the immunity built up before the first exposure to HPV. No built up immunity means no protection at first exposure.

The best immunity is built up, over time, after all three courses of the vaccine have been completed. That is why the vaccines are started at an early age.

Being up front and personal with this situation, I believe the Guardasil should be given to all girls. They are not going to NOT have sex.

See Post 17.

Actually, even a 24 year old virgin bride is at great risk for HPV because of the simple fact that, in this day and age, the 26 year old groom is probably not a virgin and has not been for quite a while.

Remember the old admonition that, when you have sex with somebody, you have also had sex with everybody that they had sex with ..... and those who had sex with them .... and those who had sex with them .... etc., etc.?

The HPVirus that the groom gave to his 24 year old virgin bride on her wedding night came from a chain of sexual partners numbering in the hundreds and dating back decades. The HPVirus that was passed on to the virgin bride on her wedding night might have come from some 14 year old who had sex when the 24 year old bride was only 7.

Trying to wipe out the HPVirus (as the Polio virus was wiped out) with a universal vaccination program protects everybody from the sexually active 14 year old to the 24 year old virgin bride with the not-so-virgin groom.

Gardisil whatever! The crux of the argument is where does this man stand!!
He speaks as a conservative, he rules as a moderate.
If that works for you, great!
I’ve had enough of that.
Stand in the place where you live to quote a song.

Exactly. My problem with the whole fiasco was mandating that 11 year old girls get it. You have to get it before you are sexually active, or 26. There was absolutely no need to require 11 year olds get it.

The conversation seems to always center around HPV and the money. For me, the question is about Perry's judgement. It could be over any issue. If HPV is a problem, then there are many ways to address it. Forcing a child to take a government issued injection is a bit far if you are a conservative. He seems genuinely sorry now, but at the time he was perfectly happy forcing everyone to conform. That's what government is,....FORCE! It should be used rarely and gently. His "Democratness" must have popped to the frontal lobe and left him completely irrational. I had the same burning in my stomach during the "Texas corridor" period. It was so unpopular and divisive, I couldn't believe he was so intent on forcing it down our throats. His and others type of "governing" was a large reason I and my wife chose to home school my daughter. There were more forced items coming down the pipe, that I just couldn't and wouldn't swallow as we sought to raise a responsible and unspoiled child.

As far as HPV goes, keep your panties up and marry a good man and you will most likely be fine. Can this be taught in government schools? Apparently not. Why would anyone send their child to a place where God is mocked, common sense is reviled, and lies are taught from books as truth. I've heard that Christian children are needed at schools to influence the others, but anyone with one eye and half sense would know that a child will conform to others, not the other way around. If you are bold enough to tell them to not have sex, they might listen, but if you give them rubbers and a shot, what do you think they believe you are teaching them? It's considered "hate speech" to tell them to keep things out of your rectum if you don't want AIDS, so the first thing they try is sodomy so they won't get pregnant.

If you stand away a little bit and just take a long look, you may see just how far we have fallen into the abyss and you may feel a little guilt for what we are doing to our kids.

Perry had a flaw in his judgment, so we have to expand on that and see if it would affect other judgement calls he may have to make that we can't even imaging right now. You need to have good character to be a leader, even more than an education. Romney changed his mind on abortion. Look at how many other things he has had to flip flop on in the last few years. If you can't figure out that a fetus is a baby, what kind of judgements will you make on other things? Why did it take most of his life to figure that out? People are allowed to change their minds, but I think the president should have some core values to start with. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect someone to know that if they force something on my daughter, I will probably shoot them. They don't have the right to over rule the parents without a court order. Parental rights are natural in every culture on the planet and have been respected since recorded time. It makes people nervous for a leader to "forget" that.

My condolences and respect go out to all those inflicted and suffering with cancer. However, this is a very questionable release in timing. Oh, and Gardisil is a bad vaccine. More info below for those truly concerned. California no longer requires parental consent for vaccination. It is unconstitutional, but many Americans do not know that.

You’re a Cain supporter, no?

I like Cain. I hope he wins too!
