“Investment manager George W. Haywood steered Obama toward putting some of his personal money into the wireless company. Obama bought into it with a $50,000 investment, according to his 2005 Senate financial disclosure form.”

This move trumps Crony Capitalism under Bush 43. BHO is now the King of the Cronies.

Apparently from his book praising his own awesomeness.

Obama explained during the 2007 campaign how he invested in the wireless company. “After I got my ($1.9 million) book contract, I had money to invest,” he said, referring to his second book, The Audacity of Hope. He said he wanted “a more aggressive strategy than the normal mutual funds.

Quite true — if the Rats can grab the American internet all or mostly to themselves with some omni-service, they can wreak all sorts of party-slanted havoc and mischief. Net neutrality? We don’t need no stinkin’ net neutrality (after all a major investor is Google with its YouTube). It’s just a fluke that GPS and aircraft navigation happen to stand in the way, otherwise this thing would have been upon America like a runaway freight train a long time ago. I don’t even think China is doing something like this.

One notes the Rancid Media is ignoring this scandal, too.

Pay to play AND insider trading personally by zero. This could be worse than Solyndra. The drip, drip, drip of corruption cannot be ignored now.

Wow.

We're about to see a perfect repeat of the same embezzlement scandal that brought down William Magear "Boss" Tweed in 1871--but instead of just New York City, we're talking something on a NATIONAL scale.

Wellllll... nobody’s actually embezzled funds in the LightSquared matter. Yet. But questions hang in the air as to the political propriety of the transactions.

I’m mildly surprised that this hasn’t come out with the spin that a bunch of amateur hobbyists and malcontent aircraft pilots are trying to block the best thing for internet since Al Gore.

pay to play,
insider trading,
and can add to that lousy engineering (GPS is a known issue with its current incarnation, and how well does it deal with cluttered terrain, nobody is saying)
and a naked bid to take over the US internet.

Ma, is it scandal soup yet?

David Gregory was being interviewed by Don & Roma this morning on WLS 890 AM in Chicago. When Don & Roma asked David Gregory about LightSquared David said he had not heard anything about it. Don was flabbergasted.

Is David Gregory related to Charlie Gibson???? They both know nothing about what is going on around them????

LightSquared has reached the foot stamping stage in their campaign.
To hell with them.

This is huge. It isn’t going to go away and it could end up being impeachable!

Heaven forbid that a journalist should be curious about real news!

He’s just a pretty face for TV. The news gets fed to him. Knows about as much about significant current events as the typical TV weatherman (with or without dog collar) knows about weather.

Ah, Buckwheat, I’m betting that if it was that easy for them, they would have switched frequency plans years ago rather than butting heads with GPS.

Study: LightSquared network ‘incompatible’ with GPS
By Dan Namowitz

A special advisory committee will issue a report that validates the aviation community’s concerns about threats to GPS by a proposed broadband communications network.

The committee, part of the not-for-profit organization RTCA that serves as a federal advisory panel on navigation and air-traffic management policy, issued a summary of its report May 26 stating its conclusion that elements of the cellular network proposal by LightSquared are “incompatible” with aviation because of potential GPS signal interference. It added that modifications could be made “to allow the LightSquared system to co-exist with aviation use of GPS.”...

I’d enjoy watching this running dog and his wookie being dragged kicking down the steps of the White Hut and into the pages of infamous history accounts of a highly corrupted socialist administration.

There will be so many socialist Democrats involved in this monumental scandal that it could revolutionize America’s politics forever.
