This administration is up to its ear lobes in scandal. This time it involves telling a General Officer what to say to a Congressional hearing. November 2012 can’t get here soon enough.

Evil, criminal, America-hating administration along with many congressrats who have sold us down the river! Let's put them in the sewer!

Investment manager George W. Haywood steered Obama toward putting some of his personal money into the wireless company. Obama bought into it with a $50,000 investment, according to his 2005 Senate financial disclosure form.

Wow. The stench is unbearable.

I have read about the LightSquared plan in aviation, IT and scientific publications. It’s planned use of spectrum (according to the various authors) will ABSOLUTELY interfere with the GPS system.

It is a BAD idea that never should see the light of the RF spectrum day.

IMHO, and the opinion of others.

And liberals keep repeating the lie that Bush/Cheney were in the pocket of Halliburton and were making money off it.

The question this article does not answer is did Obama divest himself of LightSquared when he became President?

If he still has the stock in his portfolio, this is a clear, criminal matter.

“Shelton warned that LightSquared could cripple the Pentagon’s Global Positioning System (GPS)”

Since it is unlikely that the Pentagon will need to wage war over the US, where LightSquared was going to be providing its service, this is not quite the threat the press is making of it. However, the real problem was for all aviation users of GPS services. Some, but not all, GPS receivers were degraded and in some cases unusable when tested with a LightSquared transmitter in use.

So, clearly LightSquared made some technical assumptions about its selection of system frequencies that did not take the user environment into account. You don’t want to be on an airliner approaching an airport in fog, and have to worry that the GPS signal being used for the precision approach has been degraded.

This is not an issue that can be cleared up with an ideological solution. LightSquared needs to find a different frequency plan. Period.

" Like the solar scandal, LightSquared is part of an Obama industrial policy to reshape America’s business landscape in the Democrats’ own political image. In this case, Obama’s dream was universal wireless broadband for all Americans.

That's one way of saying it. What if I said this:

"Like the solar scandal, LightSquared is part of an Obama industrial policy to reshape America’s business landscape in the Democrats’ own political image. In this case, Obama’s dream was universal wireless control of all Americans.

Just sayin', hypothetically, mind you. Please don't anybody turn me in to attackwatch.

This move trumps Crony Capitalism under Bush 43. BHO is now the King of the Cronies.

David Gregory was being interviewed by Don & Roma this morning on WLS 890 AM in Chicago. When Don & Roma asked David Gregory about LightSquared David said he had not heard anything about it. Don was flabbergasted.

Is David Gregory related to Charlie Gibson???? They both know nothing about what is going on around them????

Study: LightSquared network ‘incompatible’ with GPS
By Dan Namowitz

A special advisory committee will issue a report that validates the aviation community’s concerns about threats to GPS by a proposed broadband communications network.

The committee, part of the not-for-profit organization RTCA that serves as a federal advisory panel on navigation and air-traffic management policy, issued a summary of its report May 26 stating its conclusion that elements of the cellular network proposal by LightSquared are “incompatible” with aviation because of potential GPS signal interference. It added that modifications could be made “to allow the LightSquared system to co-exist with aviation use of GPS.”...

Considering the attitude toward cell phones on planes affecting avionics, how could LightSquared get this far without corruption?
